I also thought it was Susan. Is that ever going to be explained?

I'm more interested in who we didnt see. Rassilon said 2 voted against the rising of Gallifrey, the crying lady we saw, so who was the 2nd voter, the hidden male?

Why were they voting when previously in the episode Rassilon vaporizes someone for simply speaking out of turn? It doesn't suggest he's much for voting.

10/10, a vast improvemeng on "Journey's End" - while it had some of the usual RTD guff (evil Time Lords getting waved away after the Doctor shoots a McGuffin) it was a very stonking episode, tying up the RTD era quite eloquently, with wonderful perfomances from David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins. I was on the verge of crying (in a good way). A vast improvement on "Journey's End". Thank you Russel T. Davies, it's been a pleasant ride for the most part, fair well David Tennant, roll on Steven Moffat and roll on Matt Smith.

" I don't want to go!"

well you should have extended your contract lol. Now you've got to start all over on ugh.....NBC.

Apparently on the commentary they say the identity of the woman in white was deliberately not set - it's meant for the viewer to put their interpretation on it (i.e. not-we's more used to domestic soaps can figure it's his mum, fans can vote Susan/Romana, etc)

i thought it was his mum.

it was brilliant. i did cry a bit at the verity newman scene and as he staggered into the TARDIS.

my sister's going to be SO pissed.... :guffaw:

and 11 looks funny.

WORST. RESCUE. EVER!

I think the old woman, was Romana, however the show has left it vague incase Moff should want to bring Romana back properly in the future. It can be read that she is Romana, until its decided that it wasnt, and it does not matter.

Moving on, why is everytime Confidential showed the conker aliens filming, they had only the spikes on, and not the full green face, that bugged me.

I liked the end part of the episode, seeing all the companions again, the Doctors reward being that he can save his friends, Luke from the car & Martha (& Mickey) from the Sontaran. Dont know if the Doctor should be helping Jack score, but what the hey it was nice to see all the aliens together like that.

Moving on to the bulk of the episode itself, the return of the Time Lords is a bit wasted, why bring them back only to get rid of them again? A bit of a fudge as to how they survived the Time War and broke the Time Lock, but maybe on a second viewing that will explain itself better.

Also not sure how Donna survived, she seemed to remeber, but didnt die, just knocked out a few Masters and feel asleep. Again second viewing maybe.

All very enjoyable, but looking back most of the stuff with the Time Lords and the Master was pretty pointless, with two easy resets.

and finally the 11th Doctor, whilst I am encouraged by the trailer, there isnt much Matt Smith did differently from Tennant, check the body parts, regeneration madness, all very the same.

Time Lords and the Master

I disagree because we discovered the reason behind why The Master is what he is and the biggest moment in the Master/Doctor relationship...The Master giving his own life to save The Doctor and in a way redeem himself for his past.

One day am sure the Time Lords will return.

As only a casual fan of the show, I'd say the plot was complete bollocks and far too full of cheesy and hammy acting for my tastes.
It was only the last 20 minutes or so I really enjoyed. In particular the Rose part when he says 2005 is gonna be a great year for her.

But as others have said it was very stretched out, and I too said "get on with it" more than once.
As for Doctor 11, well he looks an annoying ugly git. The trailer for Series 5 looks like some lame CBBC show, I don't think I'll be watching it

If you think the show is a CBBC one then you have no understanding of Who and yeh you'd be right to stay way clear of it.

Wamdue, the aliens were supposed to have green round their head blending in to flesh tones on the face, but in long shots it just looked like a bad make up job so they had The Mill change the colour of their face to make it look better.

ok thanks

I dont know how they looked in HD but they didnt look to good in SD, but better in Part 2 than Part 1.

You mean in confidential or in the actual episodes? I thought they looked fine in the episodes, but on confidential they looked like a half finished make up job.

It was just nonsense. It wasn't boring, but the idea of making sense just went out the window. RTD never seemed to understand that getting Murray Gold to soak everything in Disney won't necessarily make something meaningful.

I was also damn disappointed that when the Doctor was lying face down in the booth that he didn't lift his head and was Matt Smith. That would have been perfect and understated. Instead we had the Doctor saying "Ulp, looks like I'm dying. Very slowly." and going for a stroll down near-literal memory lane.

in the actual episodes.

I loved it.

But then I learned a long time ago that the only way to enjoy RTD episodes is to completely banish from my mind any thoughts of following a logical, or even vaguely plausible plot.

Loved it. Had tears in my eyes specially at the Verity Newman part. And his last words... "I don't want to go.". That was terribly sad.

Crap nonsenseical plot! Oh and the last 20minutes was self indulgent tripe.

You know, I liked it. I didn't love it.

Some good acting, the ending was nice if a little long winded. He went all the way around the houses and came back to wilf again. Couldn't he have sorted that lot out first before leaping round in time? Longest regeneration ever. My girlfriend, who has watched a few episodes but not all, commented that "this is going on a bit". It was nice to see Martha and Mickey though, and I liked the understated Rose cameo.

The main time lord plot didn't make a lick of sense, and I'm not sure about the spikey haired conker aliens.

A marked improvement on part one and a fitting send off for tennant. Number 11 seemed a bit on the frantic side, but the tardis was exploding around him so i'll let him off.
