Much, much better than I'd feared. Actually, quite good, really. Need to think about it, but compared with what I was expecting, I'm happy.

Bit soppy though.

Loved it.
The only thing that got to me was that David Tennant should have blown his noise before they put him in the kinky chair at the start.

I am still trying to digest all of what I have just seen!

I wonder if Alonso can make coffee and is looking for a job?

I enjoyed it, some disappointments but there was no way there wouldn't be disappointments considering the build up.

From what we saw of him, I like Doctor 11 too.

One petty complaint - Martha married Mickey? Ludicrous. More ludicrous than anything else ever. Except Mickey's beard. What happened to the guy she was engaged to during series 4 and Torchwood series 2?

Time Lords were a bit of a cop out, but that was forseeable and I loved the Master going all anti-hero. I can't think of anything I particularly disliked about that aspect of the episode.

Schmaltzy end? Yes. But damn it worked on me. Especially the scene with Verity and the JOIT book-signing, I liked that a lot.

Two questions remain though - how Donna was set up to survive the metacrisis, and who the woman in white was.

GERONIMO!

Rassilon? Really?

Awful sentimental mawkish shite of the type that we should leave to American (sorry guys) TV .

Brilliant send off for DT, rollercoaster of an episode and a great finale of RTD doc before we get Moffatt's different take.

Think finales that chill not emote, but heck I'm looking forward to it!!

Clearly from the look at the end it was meant to be Susan.

I thought the women in white was his mother because of the eye contract just before the mini time lord battle.

Well, there we go.

Better than last week, but could have been a lot better. The Master/Time Lords stuff was shite and made as much sense as a fish in a hedge. I have to admit that it got better for a while with Wilf being the man With The Four Knocks (which I really didn't see coming), but the Long Drawn Out Exit With Frowny Sadness And Many Ex-Companions was a bit much.

The problem as I see it is that there was no peril or companion danger/sacrifice for the last half-hour - we were just waiting for a regeneration that we knew was coming. I actually said "Get on with it!" out loud at one point.

But I did like "GERONIMO!" :D

for an RTD finale it had the bang but was more about a quiet send off and it was perfect so nice. The Doctor's last words were so :( but I loved the sort of gift from time in way his reward the ability to make Donna's life a really happy one and to prevent the deaths of others though what happened to Marth'a first engagement, Hey Mickey ;) you old dog.

Matt Smith made an impressive start very funny.

Goodbye David cheer for 4 great years.

Sorry, how was it obviously Susan? That look could easily be his mother or some other significant Time Lady we've never heard of before who was once important to the Doctor.

I thought the women in white was his mother because of the eye contract just before the mini time lord battle.

When Wilf asks who the woman was, we get a shot of him looking at Donna, Wilf's granddaughter - thematically, it makes more sense for it to be Susan, his Granddaughter rather than his mother, a character who was never mentioned or seen - the look used in the wedding scene makes no sense if it was his mother.

It was better than I thought it was going to be, but that’s not saying much.
To be honest I was alright with the bulk of the episode, the time lords and Master bit.
The end kind of fell apart a bit thought. To start with I’m forever going to consider Ten the ego-doc. The whole why should I save myself for him bit while well acted seemed something kinnda out of character to me. The Doc to me would have either come up with some solution or just got on with it. Mind you I already had Ten pegged as a bit of an egoist.
Second how long does it take to regenerate?
I can see the advantages though, you’re dead, now if you wouldn’t mind sorting out your bills arranging the funeral, saying your’ farewells before we pop you in the coffin.
Not to sure I’m happy with not saving the time lords, but I’m sure we can always come back and get them again later if we change our minds

I liked the episode. The little twists in the plot concerning the Master's origin and the four knocks (well, it HAD to be Wilf in the end, mustn't it?) were interesting. And always great to see Timothy! Dalton! in action once again. :D

And call me sentimental, but it's still great to see all the old friends at the end, even though the Doctor's farewell was way too overlong. But we need a Jones and Smith spin-off now, dammit! :p

That 11th Doctor said:
GERONIMO!

This. :bolian:

Oh yeah - all those rumours of a reboot. Fie on them all!

The Doctor also has one hell of a death glare doesn't he?
