And I actually mean it, those blasted Christmas user names are confounding.

Memories... how I wish I could erase them from my mind...

I was in on most of the stuff mentioned here. I lost some posts during the Christmas Massacre, but not as many as other folks (about 200-300 as I recall). I remember the Troll Kingdom porn attacks. T'Bonz and I were the only ones on during one of them. It was like playing Whack-A-Mole. You'd knock one out and another would show up.



I thought moderating was a lot of fun back then. We were pretty cohesive as a group. The BR was pretty lively, in a good way. The Voyager Forum was popping, thanks in part to the Voyager Babes. I suppose it's natural to be somewhat nostalgic for the "good old days"....

And yes, of course, I still use Big Blue. It's the only way to view this board.

I think the board has become much more easy-going because T'Bonz removed the *fun* from trolling.

Everything was a blood-sport back in the beginning. Announcement threads were huge events. Bans and warnings were very public and subject to lengthy debate. Rules were overly complicated and led to a bunch of Monday-morning quarterbacking and trolls gaming the system (one warning within x period of time, allowing for y days banned from the board, etc.).

I'll admit that it was very entertaining to watch (and participate via the Announcement and QSF threads), but you know there's a problem when your board policies lead to the creation of an entire sister board with the name Troll Kingdom.

You're still around? I joined in late 2000 and raised hell for quite some time. It was fun. I asked to have my name changed years ago, so 'm different now. (I'll never tell.)

Remember when Troll Kingdom broke into the Moderator forum and started posting those private conversations on the regular boards?

There was also someone claiming that the FBI came looking for them, for something they posted here.

Now I rarely post, because most people are more interested in grandstanding than actually having a dialog.
