Karl Urban -- blond or brunet?

Oh, baby!

I don't know if these are old or new, but YOW! (suit porn alert, trampledamage!)

P.S. Looks like we may get more Karl at the movies soon. He's evidently got a part in an upcoming movie, "Red." Some BIG stars in it--hooray for our boy!

*happy sighs*

The first one's my favourite!

The side view? Mine, too--I keep sneaking looks at it every so often--I can't NOT look at him, because he looks so delicious there. Judging by his hair and how relaxed he appears, I tend to think these photos are from around the time ST came out, because recently he's appeared a bit more weary, and his face seemed more angular in photos from the Scream awards and the DVD release party. Not that I don't like him that way, too, but these photos are exceptionally nice!

Yeah, that's the one. Hang on, I've saved it to my photobucket account:

(to save us the trouble of clicking on the link again ;) )

And I think you're right - that does look like a McCoy haircut.

I hope he's going to take some down-time over Christmas, get some R&R.

Hi everybody.
First, I whis you a ¡¡¡ Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010 !!! from Spain and from of Karl Urban International Forum.

And second, I agree whit Mrs_Whatsit :
Karl "recently he's appeared a bit more weary, and his face seemed more angular in photos from the Scream awards and the DVD release party", this is truth, I fodder the same.

It looks as if those pics came from around Supernova 09 (June of this year) in Sydney. There's a you-tube video as well.

I love my daily Google "Karl Urban" alerts. This ONTD post referenced in today's alert explains a little more about that photo of Karl in trampledamage's post above, and gives us some more undiscovered (and gorgeous) photos of Karl and John Cho!

Thank you! :adore:

It looks like I was wayyy off in the timeline :alienblush: I would think (along with others) that the pics were take during the premiere of ST, possibly in NZ or AUS. The pics of JC are very nice and I've really warmed up to him since I watched the extras on the ST DVD.

BTW, I picked up a $10 copy of the unrated Pathfinder at a F.Y.E. store today... should I watch it with the sound on or off? ;)

I also get a big kick out of the posts on those websites - I'd respond as well - but most of my feelings/urges are already covered...

Re: Karl Urban -- blond or brunette?

so, ladies, was there a moment in Trek when he appeared extra delicious to you?

mine was right after the decimation of Vulcan, in Sickbay, when we see Sarek talking to the elders, and Kirk on the right side of the screen. the camera focuses on McCoy walking up to a Vulcan elder with his medical tricorder. I had a sudden warm feeling come all over me riiight at that point, and I said to myself: mm... niiiiice.

:p

For me it was here. LOOKIT THAT FACE! We get a glimpse of vulnerability through Len's belligerence and it's cute when he does that little quick head-nod before complying with the shuttle officer.

Not just a range of emotions in that face, but the face ITSELF even when calm and unfazed looked so much like De Kelley's I imagine he'd have worked as McCoy even IF he didn't possess the acting chops that he does! Even in a situation where he was a bad actor, he would still have been able to VISUALLY carry off the role of McCoy even if his emotive skills didn't stack up to Kelley's.

Agreed! He was beautifully flavored with De's spirit. :p

One person I know who saw the movie in a theater back in the summer said she was never the biggest STAR TREK wonk or geek and wasn't intimately familiar with all the old, classic episodes and characters but thought that Urban's McCoy was closest in feel and spirit to the original incarnation in the late 60s. She thought Karl was one of THE best things about the film and was recognizable as the Dr. McCoy she had seen over the years.

^ I agree with your friend. He was the best thing! Actually Karl and Zach both made me feel like the movie was "grounded" and not some shiny new thing with the name Trek slapped on it. Many things may have changed between the TOS I know/love and this fresh new movie but I was able to buy into it without any trouble because of those actors inhabiting the characters the way they did.

No Black Hat Karl in this (no Karl at all in fact, boo), but here's a behind-the-scenes clip for "Priest" with Paul Bettany. It gives you at least an idea of the film's look. Hopefully we'll start getting bits and pieces that will include a look at Black Hat sooner rather than later.

ETA: Sony has put up a Priest site. No information yet, but you can register to get updates.

Brilliant! I'll be signing up for that. :)

Legion, the movie that Paul Bettany made with Scott Stewart, before they started making Priest, opens at the end of January! Can't wait!
