I Love Casual Fridays!

My friend once applied her mascara to me while I was passed out drunk, and I dragged myself up late in the morning, chucked on the suit I had to wear back then and dashed out to work (at the very prestigious legal publishers I worked for in London) without looking in the mirror.

I did not even realise until in the bathroom at lunchtime, when I furiously stormed back into the office demanding to know why nobody had told me, or even looked at me wrong, and they said they thought I might be making a statement and didn't want to hurt my feelings. :vulcan:

To Pingfah:  Epic.

As I sit here in my jeans and a sweater, I have to say I am decidedly against causal fridays - for some reason it makes everyone in the office, myself included, WAY more slack and not really conducive to working hard and getting results. So if I ever ran a business, it would be business attire 5 days a week.

I can' decide if the lilac check pattern is awesome or terrible, but since I'm usually for some flair in dressing, I would go with awesome. :techman:

I do not believe you could go to work in a bikini ~ I will not believe it until I see photographic evidence :p

K'ehlyer, feeling just a tad pervy :alienblush:
~ it's Friday, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...
And you should see me in my boxer-brief speedos too!

:lol::guffaw::lol::guffaw:

I second that. In today's world how would they know that you weren't making a change or statement. It happens a lot today.

I actually used to dress like Holdfast for most of my life. I never owned a pair of jeans. Never wore a T-shirt unless I was paying sports or working out. Neve wore tennis shoes. When I did physical work it was always in a button shirt with khakis.

Then one after being in Texas for so long and being over dressed every where I went, I just stopped. I started dressing with what I thought was causal, but was told that was business causal, so I started the slide to dress worse. Eventually I even started even wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Even then I was still dressed better than most of the folks I run across.

So lately I have been trying to get back into wearing a tie, but it is not going so well. Since I got rid of all my suits I have been trying to purchase some new ones. That is not working out either. I just can't get into it. Funny thing is I left Corporate America to do something different, and now I have to dress more than I did before. I need to pick better fields.

Oh I remember this office I worked at, the guy would come to work in basically pajamas and house shoes basically. The management wouldn't say anything to him because he was "weird" and he was a top performer. I am sure that is why they didn't say anything to me either. :guffaw:

Sure, why not. These photos where originally posted on another forum, hence the cropping/obscuring of my face in them since I don't want some of the people reading that forum to start posting photos of me from there elsewhere, esp. if shopped.

Today's look (which I'm not particularly happy with, but oh well):

Decidedly NOT-casual past Fridays:

I would be so uncomfortable if I dressed like you. I get angry anytime I have to tuck my shirt in.

I'm still not sure either, but I couldn't resist picking that pattern when I saw it in the fabric swatch book because it was so leery. It actually made up quite nicely into a full shirt, though it's a nightmare to match with anything.

You are the Hulk and I claim my prize.

The last sentence makes me sob softly into my shirts, like Daisy.
