I Love Casual Fridays!

For 4 days a week, I'm in a suit and tie, but on Fridays I get to wear jeans and sneakers. I think I am starting to look forward to Fridays more than the weekend. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is just a good time.

Anyone else have and love casual Fridays?

Technically we have 'em but I never participate. My normal "casual" is fairly smart trousers that could be mistaken for work trousers, a patterned long-sleeve shirt (some of my casual shirts could in a pinch be used for work), and a fleece, so it wouldn't make much difference if I did.

Seconded. It's business casual at work Monday through Tuesday but casual on Fridays. I loves 'em.

Do you not mean "through Thursday" there? If not, what's the rule on Weds and Thurs? :p ;)

EDIT: RoJoHen: Why, are you a gym teacher or something?

We have a similar thing here where I work, which for my position, considering I rarely ever communicate with any clients and most of my job consists of just interacting with the rest of my workers..... I feel most of the week I'm over dressed for what I do, since the majority of the workers are in production and wear all tattered, stained, old clothing.

I get the sales reps need to look flashy, I get the receptionist needs to too, and most other office workers who deal with clients..... but I don't deal with clients.... but I am in an office.... so I'm snagged I guess.

Which is odd, since one step away from my position is the art department that also does much of what I do, except they're more hands on with production of the files I create.... yet they're casual every single day.

Damit Jim, I'm a Graphic Designer not a Car Salesman.

Work doesn't seem anymore relaxed on Fridays then any other day, regular clothes or not..... but I do look forward to it for two reasons:

#1 - It's Soon the Weekend.

#2 - By the time Friday comes around I'm all out of clean fancy clothes.

^ I am a graphic designer as well, the sales staff wear suits but I just wear whatever I want. Usually jeans and a t-shirt.

The boss did say no jeans before I started, but I wore them one day anyway and he didn't say anything. I've been wearing them for 6 years now, so it's a bit late to start laying down the law.

All the other companies I worked for didn't care what I wore, but since I've been here... things are a tad more "Professional" I guess. Kinda a pain in the butt, but a jobs' a job and I'm getting paid more, so I guess its a small price to pay.

Nobody gives a shit what I wear to work 95% of the time because the only people who see me are colleagues. I usually dress nicely just because it's more interesting to buy nice clothes, but if I feel like it I can wear jeans. Fridays during football season are Purple Pride day, so I usually wear my Ravens jersey and jeans or the equivelent.

I work in academia. I can come to work with anything between a tuxedo and a bikini and nobody would bat an eyelid.

However, usually it's shorts and t-shirt in summer, trousers and long-sleeved shirt in winter. I use nicer clothes for seminars and meetings, or whenever I want to impress the ladies. Which is often.

Business casual Monday - Thursday and casual on Fridays. It really doesn't matter to me, except it's one less pair of pants to iron each week.

Casual Fridays make me cry.

Well not really, because I get to wear whatever I want every day of the week including Fridays. It just so happens that what I want to wear is usually a snappy suit or odd jacket combo.

Mind you, I did sort of go casual today since I haven't shaved for a couple of days and didn't feel "suity" as a result. So dark burgundy jacket, pale grey cardigan, dark grey/black plaid short scarf, blue OCBD with no tie, and very dark brown (almost black) trousers & black oxford shoes it was. More scruffy than I usually wear, for sure.

Can we get some pictures of your version of "Casual Friday?"

Sure, why not. These photos where originally posted on another forum, hence the cropping/obscuring of my face in them since I don't want some of the people reading that forum to start posting photos of me from there elsewhere, esp. if shopped.

Today's look (which I'm not particularly happy with, but oh well):

Decidedly NOT-casual past Fridays:

I do not believe you could go to work in a bikini ~ I will not believe it until I see photographic evidence :p

K'ehlyer, feeling just a tad pervy :alienblush:
~ it's Friday, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...
