^ Have you seen the video taken at the recent Con he was at? I think it was a gamer's con....theres a group that sings, "Wil Wheaton gets lucky sometimes" (or something to that effect) and it is just hilarious. And he is so adorable in it.
i LOVE reading his blog now and those reviews he did of TNG. He's alright by me.

M, thanks for those links. I suspected the Slusho mix was from another show or movie, but i didn't know what from. I also didn't know that song was a parody of a Tom Petty song. I'm not on LiveJournal, but i do check Wil's blog on a daily basis. Recently he put up pictures from Halloweens past. They were neat.

Thanks M. I clicked and listened...yes, i did know that song once upon a time, but hadn't remembered it. The music itself isn't being used though, right? Pretty much just the premise, (Even the losers get lucky sometimes vs Even Wil Wheaton gets lucky sometimes). Thanks for finding it for me!

The whole thing is just too cute for words. I love how excited Wil gets in that video...how he jumps onstage and gives them this massive hug. I just wanna squish him!

Looking at it again, you're right -- I think I'm getting two different vids mixed up. The one where he's serenading Wil at PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) 2009 is Jonathan changing the words to one of his own songs. I'll have to work out where the other notion came from.

Wheaton dubbed over every Romulan except Nero and Ayel: often on films the on-set recording doesn't come out great and has to be rerecorded: so in this case Abrams got one person to dub those lines instead of getting each actor back.

Yeah, it's not really odd, but rather quite common. There are actors for whom this sort of thing represents the bulk of their work; you may never see their faces on screen, but they're in there, redoing poorly-recorded dialogue (including dialogue for which the audio recording was spoiled by unwanted noise) or lines which get changed in the script after the scene has already been shot (Hey, Johnny!") as well as adding background chatter, comm traffic, screams and yells, etc. -- you'll sometimes see their names in the credits for things like "additional dialogue" or "ADR voices". I'm not sure that Wil has done that kind of work as much, but he's got quite a bit of experience as a voice actor, doing his lines in a studio booth instead of a soundstage.

Wow, I didn't know that! I have seen "Additional Dialogue" in movie credits before and I was never certain what it meant. I always figured it was someone who either improvised or wrote additional script lines in the movie.

You seem to be confusing Wheaton with Wesley.

And remind me again which actor portrayed Wesley? I'm not confused. Characters ultimately are what the actors makes them to be. Good actors makes good charaters and whining pricks makes lousy whining Wesley Crushers.

Going by that logic, I'm supposed to hate Eric Bana, John deLancie, Marc Alaimo, and Casey Biggs because they all played villains rather than being great actors, right? I wonder how they keep getting hired if they play such jerks...

Will Wheaton is way cool. He has no problem making fun of his Trek character. How great is that? Few people can pull that one off convincingly.
