The College Football Thread

Yesterday was pretty crummy. This Penn State team has no heart this year - two games against decent opponents, they fell behind and played absolutely anemic football. Evidently Clark can only play well with a lead. At this point I'd like to see Kevin Newsome start against Indiana...give him some experience so that @Alabama isn't his second career start.

It certainly counts as a down year for the Lions when their marquee win is ... get this ... Temple. :wtf:

Watching Michigan play football is a genuinely unpleasant experience. Their offense is okay, but their defense offers as much resistance as tissue paper. Now they need a win over Ohio State just to get bowl eligible. Talk about a down couple of years for that program...

Try watching USC these days....

:(

I promise you that I am not piling on... but what i nthe world has happened with the Trojans lately? I know Stanford is good, but not so good as to expect a thrashing like this.

And in other news.... dagnabbit but Iowa played a great game, maybe even deserving of a win. It's a tough call, but the important thing is that the Buckeyes won. Whoever we meet in Pasadena, I hope Pryor is in better shape than he was today.

How is Jhavid Best these days? Any lingering effects from that full gainer into the end zone?

Did anybody watch the Tennessee / Ole Miss game today? It has been a looooong time since I saw a rushing performance like Dexter McCluster (Ole Miss) put on today?
Att: 25
Yds: 282
TDs: 4
Runs: 15, 23, 32, and 71

When was the last time USC lost three games? I don't think they have ever in the Pete Carroll era.

I think they were 6-6 Carroll's first year.

Part of the problem is injuries on the offensive side, and erratic play from the freshman quarterback. As for USC's defense, I really don't know what to say. They've completely come unglued in the second half of the season. Just terrible tackling, terrible pass coverage, terrible everything. How many times did the Stanford QB rush for a first down on third and long?

Just an absolutely awful performance today. And Stanford really rubbed their noses in it, with that 2 point conversion try and the last TD of the game. Hopefully, USC will remember this game next year and recapture some pride.

Iowa finally won me over. The past few weeks I was not sure who they were. Now ... damn. And Vandeberg is a keeper.

He was out of the game today since he has had two concussions these last two weeks.

Luckily Arizona's special teams chocked it up big time in the last two minutes and gave Cal the win.

This kid who replaced Best looked pretty sweet in his long TD run.

On another game, I was not surprised that TCU beat Utah, but that margin really DID surprise.
