Diecast AOS 1701?

Outside of a keychain I picked up last night, I've yet to see a decent miniature of the neo-1701. Any word from anyone? I would have expected it for this year's Hallmarks, if nothing else.

A few months back, in one of the other threads, one of Hallmark's sculptors explained why there wasn't going to be a JJprise available this year. Of course, being brain-dead, i cannot remember what he said. But if you check the older threads you might find that post. I'll see if i can find it as well....

^ In a nutshell, the details/etc. for the new ship were not provided to Hallmark in time to fit with their production cycle and have it out for this year. This was back when Bad Robot was keeping everything SooperSekritHushHush.

Thanks! I thought it might be something like that. Mind you, the hush around it brought back memories of 1998, and a certain giant movie monster's redesign, which was supposedly faithful to his classic look. Thank God AOS was never given to Devlin/Emmerich. I also hope a diecast version comes out, to boot.

A Hot Wheels die-cast of the movie Enterprise is supposed to come out in early 2010. It will be about 6 inches or so in length. It is part of the series already out that includes the refit Enteprise, Enterprise-D, the Reliant, and a Klingon bird of prey.

^ Thanks Dayton! That's what it was. (I'm old and senile. i need help remembering things......) :bolian:

No worries. My writing partner works at Hallmark and often works with the licensing folks, so I heard about this a lot. We also are friends with the sculptor who's crafted the prototypes for all the Trek ship ornaments (along with all sorts of other stuff), and he was hoping to take a crack at the new E from day 1.

I thought that version was supposed to be out this past summer? I was wondering where it was.

I also had heard the polar lights model kit was supposed to be out next month, but I guess that has been changed too.

Yeah. The Hot Wheels movie version of the Enterprise was supposed to be out months ago. Then, I saw somewhere that it's now scheduled for a 2010 sale date.
Given the pictures of it that are out there, it was so far from the look of the movie Enterprise (red nacelles, the gold ring around the bridge part of the saucer) I'm wondering if Mattel quietly pulled it to retool it to look more like what ended up on the movie screen. I'm hoping so.

No, the JJprise was never going to be out in Dec. What you are thinking about is the 1:1000 scale Refit Enterprise from ST:TMP-ST:UDC. It does come out next month, and will be awesome!
