UFO Hunters are idiots!

I watched this show for the second time last night and I came to the realization these losers need to disappear inside some secret government program.

These fools were running around trying to determine if Area 51 was moved to another location, I think Dunagree or something like that.

They were approached by security and these nerds walk up to him and pretty much are smart asses trying to show how "tough" they are.

The Public Affairs lady meets with them and they ask her stupid crap like. "Can you confirm or deny if alien technology from Area 51 has been moved here?" What do these idiots expect her to say, "Why sure, we got all kinds of reverse tech UFOS and alien bodies stored here!" Of course she told them she had no knowledge of this.

These losers then believe that if they ride bicycles they will be able to get closer to the gates because "bikes dont throw up as much dust as a car does". They ride around the perimeter reporting on basically nothing then ride back thinking they "fooled" the government.

I'm pretty sure they were observed the whole time. Just because no security approached them this time dont mean they "snuck under the radar."

They never find any "real" evidence of UFOs, just the same rehashed stuff that has been thrown around for years.

I agree, I like UFOs I think the government clearly hasn't told us everything they know.

But I mean really, after the government / police / whatever came up to you the first time, they know you are in the area! They realize they have no right to tell you to leave public property.

I watched like 4 episodes because i like the UFO footage.

To be fair, one must judge each UFO hunter individually.

Kevin--newest member, engineer, wears eyeglasses. He brings commonsense skepticism to the show.

Pat--tallest guy, usually wears baseball cap. Less skeptical than Kevin. Seems convinced that aliens are real.

Bill--the oldest and shortest guy. No theory is too fantastic for Bill. Underground bases in New Mexico, Reptilians and/or Grays kidnapping humans, Men in Black, extraterrestrials in ancient times--whatever it is, Bill believes it.

Actually the aliens in ancient times is quite easy to prove and hard to disprove because you can't say it's "a military plane".

However Bill is bat shit nuts! Fun to watch but god damn makes us EBE believes look insane. ;)

Haven't seen the show, but for some reason I'm reminded of a certain X-Files parody....

These guys are idiots. They pretty much ran around for an hour trying to determine if some place was the new Area 51. They interviewed a alledged retired security guard who claimed he worked there until he retired in the 80's, but of course he never saw anything except some strange lights one day and he had "top secret clearance".

People like them are a joke. Running around a fenced in govt facility while ranting and raving about aliens and underground bases is stupid. The govt aint never going to give up any info, you aint never going to get into these places and you will never find anybody with any credible proof of UFOs. Talking to people who saw "lights in the sky" or a "saucer looking thing" is not proof. I can say I saw a triangle UFO over Ft Knox and they cant prove or disprove it.

I'm sure the govt is hiding all sorts of stuff and they are laughing at these morons who take pictures of buildings and warning signs as evidence the govt is hiding something.

he had "top secret clearance".

All that means is that one of the government institutions---not even all of them, necessarily---did enough of a background check to decide he was trustworthy. It says zero about what he would actually have access to. There are things called need to know and compartmentalized information for a reason.....

What should UFO researchers do? Sit at their desks and surf the Net all day? That wouldn't be productive. There's no substitute for going on the road and talking to witnesses. Did you watch any of last night's 4 episodes? The guys got their hands on good footage by driving out to the places where sightings occurred.

And BTW, they know that they are up against a huge wall of government secrecy. Nothing good in research ever comes without a lot of thankless effort.

UFO researchers are wasting their lives. Unless they can actually get a decent film showing Zort from the Planet Bugium in the Taurus Constellation stepping out of his ship and waving, I aint going to believe them. Showing me videos of lights or objects that are badly focused or not enough detail can be seen aint good enough for me.

Chasing after the US govt aint going to get them nowhere and is a waste of time. I also dont find credible "witnesses" who claim to know the inner workings of govt bases but "have to get the story off my chest".

I had a secret clearance in the US Army and attended secret briefings and I was even allowed to read Top Secret stuff and I have been out of the Army for over 8 years, yet I aint going to blab what I know. I believe if I did I could still get in trouble for it and the stuff I know is probably nothing compared to what someone who supposedly worked on a secret base knows.

UFO researchers are wasting their lives.

They actually aren't. They will never prove a damn thing because people will see what they want to see, either for or against alien UFOs.

However they have gotten some interesting info out of the government through the Freedom of Information Act. None of it has to do with UFOs, but still.

In other words, "Don't bother me with the facts. My mind is made up."

That line is courtesy of Stanton Friedman (a well-known ufogist). He sees attitudes like yours all the time.

You're quite sure that UFOs aren't worth scientific study. Fortunately, many other people feel differently, and some of them are real scientists.

I wouldn't bring up Stanton Friedman if you wanted to maintain any crediblity.
I went to one of his free lectures at the University Of Winnipeg in about 1996 and he'd show documents that he'd requested from the government but that had large parts blacked out as proof of a conspiracy. His photos at the end were so laughable I though he was pulling our legs and was soon going to show more believable photos. And no...I don't car one little bit if he's a nuclear physicist. He's always sure to mention that as though it matters.

I haven't seen this show that the OP mentioned, but is it a regular show that's on weekly? That's what is suspect to me also, like those ghost hunter shows. They seem sure that they'll always find enough evidence of the incredible to ensure an hour long show every week. Ha!

They actually are.

UFOs and aliens would be painfully easy to prove if they were real. Especially if, as the crackpots say, they've been coming to hang out with us for thousands of years. Kind of odd that after thousands of years there hasn't been a single piece of actual evidence supporting them.

And no, blurry photos of a dim light in the distance and blackened text from government papers isn't evidence.

"Absence of Proof = Absolute Proof, OMG!" That seems to be the mantra of those idiots.

Yes, they are wasting their time. I dont believe in aliens, but I would love to see REAL proof of their existence. Yes, I have seen films and pictures of things that cannot be explained, but that is all these UFO researchers bring to the table. They will never be able to penetrate the shroud of secrecy the govt throws up around its most important projects so they are wasting their time trying to go after the govt. Even if they manage to get their hands on something legit, do they honestly think the US govt would allow them to tell everyone about it?

Thousands of grainy pictures and films are not proof in my opinion. If the US govt is secretly working with aliens or has alien technology, these guys will NEVER see it nor get info on it. So they go through the FOIA? So what? Do they honestly think the US govt is going to release info to them on any alien it has. Oh sure they might give them some tiny bits like memos on some govt agency ordered to investigate an unexplained light, but that is all they will get.

Exactly.

Aliens might be real. (It's probable, even.)

Aliens may have visited Earth. (Once or twice.)

But they most certainly have not been coming constantly, experimenting on people, interacting with the government, and crashing all over the place. That's the kind of thing that's impossible to hide completely forever.

Sure, the US Government might be capable of it, but what about all the aliens visiting the Australian outback, the Philippines, or Peru?

Oh, right. I forgot. Aliens ONLY land in New York and Washington.

I believe Alien life exists out there. I also think these people are nuts.

Spare me your unsolicited guidance. I've read three of Friedman's books and I've also attended one of his lectures. I am very familiar with his career and the respect he enjoys within his field.

I went to one of his free lectures at the University Of Winnipeg in about 1996 and he'd show documents that he'd requested from the government but that had large parts blacked out as proof of a conspiracy. His photos at the end were so laughable I though he was pulling our legs and was soon going to show more believable photos.
I'm sorry I wasn't there to see you take him down a peg. Tell me that you stood up and spoke, picking apart every one of his arguments and exhibits. That is what you did at the lecture, right? That would have been something to see!

And no...I don't car one little bit if he's a nuclear physicist. He's always sure to mention that as though it matters.
But it does matter, because the professional credentials of UFO investigators are always under close scrutiny.

It would be easy to attack Friedman's competence if he were a simple elementary school teacher or car salesman who investigated UFOs during his free time. If Friedman's experience as a nuclear physicist doesn't give him any credibility, then what would?

Here's something--Friedman never earned his Ph.D because he wanted to go to work immediately after college. Is this a problem?

On the subject of the blacked-out documents that Friedman shows during lectures--seriously, is there a better visual aid that demonstrates the ridiculous amount of government secrecy surrounding UFOs?

So a piece of paper that is all blacked out proves UFOs exist? Not enough proof for me. Perhaps the govt dont want them to know about man-made projects that are being made.

People like these UFO hunters have been trying ot pierce the shroud of secrecy for decades and you know what, they have turned up empty handed time and again. When this worthless show is eventually replaced with something else on the History Channel, these guys will not have come any closer to solving the UFO mystery.

Small White Car has a point - Why dont aliens ever land anywhere else? Why do they only crash in locations where the govt has the means to clean up the wreckage and cover it up?

I personally dont believe we have been visited. The universe is a huge place and if aliens do exist I highly doubt they would have found us by now.

A piece of paper that is all blacked out proves there was information on that piece of paper the government doesn't want the researchers SEEING--i,e, they are HIDING something. What? Well, we don't KNOW, do we? It's a really simple equation though--if UFO's DON'T exist, WHY is the government HIDING information about "nothing"?

Not enough proof for me. Perhaps the govt dont want them to know about man-made projects that are being made.
In EVERY case? Sometimes DECADES after fact? Seems unlikely.

Nah. People like these UFO Hunters are an embarrassment. Their first and PRIMARY interest is to keep the show on the air. That's why they MANUFACTURE drama with the stunts they pull, trying to make it interesting. It's not. I HAVE an interest in UFOs and I rarely watch this show. And that main guy, who believes EVERYTHING that anyone tells him and continues to advocate mystery and suspicion where there are much more reasonable explanations makes EVERYONE with an interest in UFOs look like a crackpot. He's an idiot.

It's not an "either/or" equation where "either all claims are true or NONE of them are true". It's entirely possible that a FEW or even a SINGLE sighting has been legitimate but the ROSWELL crash never happened. Maybe something DID crash at Kecksburg PA in 1965 but nothing happened at Roswell in '47. Maybe Kecksburg WAS a Russian Satellite and something strange DID crash at Roswell. The combinations are infinite.

I personally dont believe we have been visited. The universe is a huge place and if aliens do exist I highly doubt they would have found us by now.
You know, for someone who claims to have chased a demon from your room, you're pretty skeptical of those making claims that are FAR more likely to be true than your "demon-tale".

On the subject of the blacked-out documents that Friedman shows during lectures: Is there a better visual aid to demonstrate the ridiculous amount of government secrecy surrounding UFOs?

Last year I was doing some work on my family tree and requested a few documents from the government about my grandfather. He worked for the military during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Every single document I got back from them had large swathes of blacked out text.

SO OH MY GOD MY GRANDFATHER IS AN ALIEN!!! AIYEEE! BLACKED OUT TEXT IS ABSOLUTE PROOF! OMG OMG OMG! ALIENS ARE REAL!!! <wags his hands in the air as he runs around in circles>

There's not enough  emoticons to express that kind of stupidity.
