Code of Honor-What would you have done differently?

Three things:

-Cast Chinese actors instead of black actors;
-Have all the actors speak their lines in Mandarin;
-Then use English subtitles.

Bingo! TNG's first kung fu movie ep!

Red Rum!

'Dragon's Honor' by Kij Johnson and Greg Cox actually was set on an alien 'China-like' planet.

No kung-fu involved.

I haven't read it yet, so I can't give my full opinion.

Now, if the episode was allegedly racist; I don't see how making the characters Asian would make it less racist.

Dude: I was being sarcastic. I was pointing out the absurdity in the ep. Although interesting from an alternative casting point of view, the elements of the screenplay were like a bad Tarzan movie, which is why folks found it racist. Worked better casting African-American actors like Michael Dorn and Tim Russ as aliens. -- RR

Dude: I can't sense sarcasm by reading something over the internet....(My goodness!)...

And I've already given my pov on the episode in relation to 'bad' Tarzan movies why 'some' folks found it racist, and I'm not going to go that route again. However, I don't get how the episode worked better because Michael Dorn and Tim Russ was cast as aliens...since Tuvok wasn't invented yet, and I forget whether or not Worf actually did much in the episode...

Anywho, put a smilie...or a 'hint' that your joking...i.e. j/k

We haven't reached the age where we can jack into computers and speak to one another...yet...:borg:
