The College Football Thread

Well, Michigan is blowing away Delaware State. It's not a surprise. But I'm glad Michigan should finally get back in the win column after dropping two straight. We'll see how Grand Valley State responds to last week's loss tonight too. Finally another home game, and this is probably the most significant regular season game I've attended for some time.

Oh my God! These offenses in the OU/Texas game are both so inept it's laughable. Fumble after fumble and still Texas can't capitalize. Then Colt McCoy coughs it up on the 12 yard line. I knew he'd fumble because his arm was flailing around out there when he was running. Then OU fumbles again on the next series.

It's bizarro world--the land of no offense. 6-0 Oklahoma on two field goals. No, Texas didn't recover the fumble. Challenge reverses this one. What a pathetic offensive display on both sides. They've both been in the red zone all day--their own. :guffaw:

EDIT--6-3 Oklahoma. Oops, now it's 6-6 all knotted up on two field goals apiece.

Damn, Colt McCoy has sucked today. OU is kind enough to throw an INT to Texas on OU's 21 yard line so Texas can go in for the kill, then McCoy throws it right back. Between that and him coughing it up in the red zone earlier, he can share a razzie award with his offensive line.

EDIT--and now Landry Jones has thrown another INT back to Texas. This is a comedy of errors, I'm telling you. :guffaw: These offenses have not been sharp to say the very least.

:guffaw: :guffaw:

They are gonna savage Stoops on the local radio shows. There'll be no joy in mudville just directly south of my location.

Maybe it was the flu that made McCoy look so bad today. He sounded really hoarse when the reporter talked to him and they said he'd been sick. I knew that he and Sam Bradford are close. I wasn't surprised to see Colt find him after the game to hug him. The OU fans are going to have to find comfort in remembering Sam Bradford because he'll never start for OU again after what happened to him today.

Texas hasn't played top notch defenses to this point. OU's been the best they faced. Also, I read the newspaper after the game and Colt McCoy has been very ill this week. That'll affect a performance.

Holy Shit!

Excuse me while I have four simultaneous strokes....

USC played terrible, sloppy, defense in the second half. Those penalties are inexcusable. Someone better be running extra laps in practice.

Not a pretty win, but we'll take it. Evil has been vanquished for another year.

Yeah, some inexcusable penalties (and some questionable calls from refs) made this closer than it should have been, a little too much excitement for me at the end.

The Irish did play inspired, much better than I expected, but order remains restored in the universe. The good triumphed over evil for the 8th year in a row.

I just want to give a big shout out to the Yellowjackets at Georgia Tech. You guys just made my weekend. And yet once again it's demonstrated that you can't spell "overrated" without VT.

*is sorry Virginia Tech lost* My nephew is considering going there. If he does, he'll be in the marching band...and I'll have an excuse to go to games next year. :techman:

Do I even need to say how Colorado State did today? Slaughtered like lambs by Texas Christian. My Cam the Ram doll is going to hang himself. :(
