Chris Pine appreciation thread

This a screen cap I took from his CSI episode.

Yeaaah. I'm not liking the hair in those!

Now those arms are a whole 'nother story....and that tight tank top, very lovely

Is that a wig? I hope so cause I don't like it lol.

I'm trying to remember from when i watched the show if his hair gave the impression of it being his or being a wig. i can't remember....

he looked so young in that episode...i didn't check the date on it....going to have to do that. Im curious.

The lip ring (not in the photos) that he wore briefly in the show was a distraction...but the way he kept licking his lips was...... *squee!!!!!*

and then at the end of the show when he confesses and he lets the character's true nature show...... *double squee*

WereDoggeh, im with you. The arms...and that tight tank top.... *sigh*

Am i the only one who LOVES his scars?

Don't know if it's a wig; but I think he has strong hair. In the movie, where it's short, it stands up. What I notice in these shots is that he has a sturdy neck. It's substantial.

omg Jeri. You are killing me with these pictures! LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!!!! I just want to smother it with kisses!!!!

Pretty darned adorable, isn't he? ;) Nice lips below.

This episode aired 15 December 2003. It's a second-season episode, called "Extreme" (IMDb). His character is called "Tommy Chandler;" and at the page, the episode has 55 votes with a 7.1 average.

Where does he have scars?

He has acne scars on his face. From the pictures i've seen, mostly on the left side. There are a couple of shots in ST (i think it was ST) where you can really see them.

Would it be TMI if i said i want to trace them with my finger?

Im seriously melting over this picture JERI. He is so freaking adorable. Look at that dimple!!!!! You've like, totally made my day girlfriend!

Glad to help! This one shows his eyes close up. As we know, he's got some brows on him, too.

Pic for today.
Is there something i don't know about ties? I mean, are they supposed to be this short? Is this a new trend? Or does Chris need help getting dressed in the morning?
If he does, i'm volunteering!

well, i don't care what he is dressed in. This face and that smile! OY!

This outfit looks a little...well....dorky. But hey...he's still adorable. :techman:

And everyone's allowed to have a dorky day now and again.

^ PK, ooooooh trust me, i agree! And the goofy tie only makes me love him (and want him) even more!!!!

and that mega-watt smile can sure light up a room!!!!

Here's the last two screen caps I made.

Randi, this one shows some small scars. He would have just turned 23 in August before this show in December.

His eyes really look beautiful in this one, even though his character is EEvil.

Should have called this the "Pining for Pine" thread. Mods? Make it so!

Though I don't share those feelings, I think he did a decent job portraying Kirk. And when one thinks of it, playing Kirk could have been a disaster, falling into the cliche Shatner mannerisms and such. That didn't happen. He played it more or less down the middle. What Shatner-isms he invokes are fairly subtle.

I think the main difference that strikes me, with all the actors, is the intensity levels are much lower. The voice volume is way down. The TOS actors had a lot of stage backgrounds, and carried that with them. I think some voice development would serve Chris Pine well in future Trek films.

Here's the audition: scream "KKKKHHHaaaaaannnnn!!!!!!" If you nail it, you've got the part :)

While he doesn't appear to have a long list of theater credits on his resume, he did study acting at the American Conservatory Theater and, one would presume, would have gained at the very least a solid grounding in stage work, including how to project. Many of his lines in this movie were given in fairly intimate situations, though, and would call for a more quiet and low-key delivery.

Aside to anyone who remembers: wasn't Pine doing something on stage back East somewhere, during the time the movie was in post-production? I can't remember any of the details, but I have a vague recollection of him getting good reviews.

From Chris's Wiki page (with references):

"...In 2007 he starred opposite Scott Wolf in the Los Angeles production of Neil LaBute's play "Fat Pig" and won raves for his depiction of a competitive, alpha-male friend...

During the rest of summer 2009 he appeared in the Los Angeles production of the Beau Willimon play "Farragut North..."
