Forward Swept Wing K'Tinga Request

Ok, I guess you'd like some modifications made...

How'd you guess ?

- Flatten out the curve of the centerbody
- Sweep the pylon backward instead of forward
- Re-position the nacelles to roughly the same position on the pylon as on the K'Tinga

I really appreciate your work. From my looking at it, I'd have to say the shorter neck looks better.

I think you might have narrowed the centerbody too much in the back, though...

One thing that's been bugging me, and is kind of related to that, is I think the impulse/shuttlebay block on top of the centerbody looks too big.

I've narrowed that block a little in this next image, I think it helps the design:

Yes, that block is now back to being the same proportions as on the K'Tinga.

I see your point. Still, can you widen the aft centerbody a little bit more? Ideally, if possible, I'd like the spacing between the impulse-block and the edge of the aft-centerbody to be about the same as the image in Post #33

Also, I think you were right about using the larger wingspan that you had used in Post #33. It actually makes more sense.

By the way despite the various revision requests, I think you have done a fantastic job so far and appreciate your work a great deal.

You have the aft centerbody width perfect! (Out of curiousity, did you adjust the width of the forward centerbody over what it was in Post #45?)

The curvature of the forward centerbody is a bit much. It looks too close to the sweep of the wing.

I drew an example of what I was going for

(BTW, it's actually your image, inverted, I played with the colors to get purple, printed it out, drew on it then re-scanned it in so it's probably going to be quite big)

I drew a line to illustrate the curvature of the forward centerbody I want (If possible cut the neck off, revise the wing, then move the neck back on to avoid "cutting" off pieces of the neck that join the centerbody) Everything else is fantastic.

Yeah, I just moved the wings out, so the forward part of the centerbody became wider too. I thought that was better than lessening the angle at which the wings join onto the centerbody.

The regular D-7 was 228.3 meters, and the K'Tinga was 232.64 (similar hull, longer nacelles -- many sources list it as being smaller, but I did some study regarding the scaling and concluded it to be 232.64) meters.
