What a terrible finale! *Spoilers*

Well i got to be honest i never watched the show when it was on TV, but only seen it when i bought the entire 4 seasons on DVD, now i feel like i let the show down by not watching and supporting it when it was on air :(

Yes it's a pity it ended so poorly, a good send off, like TNG, DS9 and VOY had, would of placated ther fans who where sad to see Enterprise be cancelled.

As it was set over one hundred years after Entprise in a medium, the holodeck, that was notorious for getting things wrong about the content it showed I choose to take what it revealed with a grain of salt.

Note to the mods - why not open something like "The Official TATV bash-o-rama" thread and make it sticky, considering the frequency of TATV threads popping up?
This thread will do fine for the "TATV Suxx!!!1!1!" rants du jour.

It goes against my Phloxist sensibilities to pin it. But if enough folks feel like venting, it'll stay current.

I was actually watching this episode on a 'certain website' and I thought it was out of character of Trip to kill himself like he did.

I recently watched 'The Enemy' where Romulan Centurian Bochra asks Geordi LaForge if he is afraid to die....(And Geordi comments that he is). No doubt there are going to be dangers 'out there' in the cosmos, but I don't think someone (Trip) is going to inadvertently kill himself if there might be another option out there.

Even Kirk in 'Obsession' said he wasn't going to sacrifice himself, though Ensign Garrovick thought he intended to.

On the other hand, The Riker/Troi scenes could have worked if it had taken place after Nemesis (since they obviously look it age-wise)...

The writing obviously needed work; it was sloppy.

One scene I did think was hilarious and cute: Shran and Archer are back on the ENT, and (I think) Shran tells his daughter to thank the Captain, after Archer tells the Shran & daughter to head to sickbay. As Shran picks up his daughter, she innocently/happily says, 'Thanks pinkskin!' before her father carries her off to sickbay....

Sidenote: Shran's daughter reminded me of the character from the Trek novel 'The Eye of the Beholders'...which I want to read soon.

Furthermore, I did like the scene with Riker/Chef...and the talk he has with each member of the crew.

I don't think it's the monumentally horrible episode people are making it out to be, but the Troi/Riker scenes stretch credibility for the episode.

I'm not a fan of TATV. I think Braga has come out and said it was quick patch job, and he regretted putting it on the air, but they didn't have a lot of time to do anything more. Then again I think he was also the one that called it a "gift" to the fans.

Now that I've read The Good That Men Do, I don't even consider TATV an episode anymore. As far as I'm concerned ENT ended with Terra Prime and then was followed up with TGTMD.

It's too bad they didn't get a 5th season... I've been reading some of the stuff they had planned and I would have REALLY liked to of seen a lot of it... so it goes.

Honestly, it makes better sense as a finale for the show. TATV would have been better served as a TNG episode. It just doesn't make sense to end a series like that... I would have been happier if they pulled a Soprano's and just cut the damn thing off and went to a black screen for an hour... at least it would have had better acting than Troi/Riker... ;-)

TATV is one big crap of episode.

It shouldnt even be counted as Enterprise.

As one man says: "Only reference to TATV will be taken as spam and deleted immediately. :D

I believe you meant "every reference." :guffaw:
Not on this board, I'm afraid... In this place people are actually allowed to like that piece of shit. Some of them will even rub it in your face now and then.

LOL, yea, every reference :p
Thats my english xD...

The only people who likes this "thing", I think it should be the same one that are guilty for ending the show..."The great" TNG Trekies which didnt like it because story is, imagine that, before all other shows...man still cant understand that..

What's the problem with people having differing opinions? I mean, what's the point of a discussion board, if everyone agrees on everything?

what's TGTMD?

and yeah, S5 would have been great. the plan was to have that andorian shran apart of the regular cast.

TGTMd is the short version of the Enterpise novel title The Good That Men Do. I like it better than the tv finale and Trip's alive in the book. The books are the continuation of the series season 5 The begining of the next book continues with Kobayashi Maru and it leads up to the events of the Romulan war and the next book in a few weeks The Romulan war Beneath the Raptor's Wing comes a big trade paperbackcomes out Oct 20.

I find the setting, honestly, a little less interesting inherently. But I don't dislike the show for being a prequel. I'm not a fan of the show, but it's for different reasons.

I've never seen TATV myself, but I've seen it described so much as one of the worst of Trek and easily the worst finale that I'm very curious. Maybe I'll check it out at some point.

Yup. I urge fans to buy one... (also the new Romulan War book when it arrives). Anything to do with Enterprise is pretty much a guaranteed sale for me. The show has always gotten short shrift, so far as merchandise is concerned. Art Asylum (now DST) products were amazing but didn't last much beyond 2003 for ENT, so we didn't even get the full set or those missing bridge stations. Anything I can do to hopefully make that change... starting with sales of books, since that's all there's been for several years now... *harumph*

And a return from the Kzinti.

Mach5, Cmdr Data... the point of a discussion board is to share a variety of opinions. An atmosphere of civility is to be preferred, in order for folks to feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Denigrating a group of people simply because their viewpoint differs from yours is not cool. They have as much right to express their views, and be treated with courtesy, as you do.
