Hey MadMan any chance you could become friends with a modder for Star Trek Armada, Armada II, Starfleet Command 3, and/or Bridge Commander, because that would make for a really nice ship to have one or all of those games.

I've had some guys try to convert these things over before... the problem is that it's always too high poly. :) I don't know of a way to automatically reduce the poly count, without rebuilding it.

If you think you know someone who might be able to do it, though, then we might be talking. :)

Love it, MadMan! Excellent work.

Quick question though... what are those grey panels on the rear-upper surface of the saucer on either side of the impulse engine? They are (obviously) consistent with similar but somewhat smaller details on the NuEnterprise, but do you have any idea what they're supposed to be for? All this time I've been assuming deflector shield emitters (labelled one through four, counterlcockwise started with starboard dorsal).

Not really sure... I was thinking of something that they could do, after I put them there. :) I have something similar on the bottom of the secondary hull, too... Shield generators sound like a good idea, to me. :)

Work as been crazy with the school year fixing to start and all... maybe I'll make some progress soon. Thanks, guys...

What font are you using there for the hull ID markings?
It's called Airborne II. I got it from the Charles Casmiro designs website. :) It's supposedly the most accurate version of the original font.

Seeing as I already have it on my computers' hard drives, I won't dispute the claim.

Besides which, he even went to the trouble of accomodating non-Latin alphabets with his version. Greek, Cyrillic and Hebrew-using fen should have few troubles with it, I'd hope.

Next up for inclusion: UCAS, perhaps?

UCAS?

United Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics. Used for writing with several First Nations' languages. Inuktitut being the most prominent, but there are others.

Alright, I am working on this again! Work (and everything else) has slowed down enough to where I can think straight. :)

So, here's an image to show where I am...

More to come. :)

OK, a few updates.... Just some additional detailing, and texturing...

What do you guys think? I feel a little rusty. :)

I think the texture on the primary hull looks too much like a texture, if you get what I'm saying. Especially in that last shot of the underside.

Thanks, guys.

yeah, that underside has an issue, that I noticed after I stopped looking at it for a few minutes. :) It'll look better, too, when I have good lighting on it, so that the specular maps will work.

More updates, shortly.
