USS Constellation, NCC-1017

OK... I think this is better. I also lost those two side hatches...

And, one more!

I think I'm succeeding with the old "rusty" look. Let me know if I'm overdoing it, though...

I think the secondary hull looks great but the saucer looks like there's too much contrast between the light and dark panels.

Really? it might just be the way the lights are set up, but I'm using a variation of the same texture for both, so the colors are the same. I'm sure I'll end up tweaking it a little more before I'm done...

On the side view, it looks to me like the aztecking on the bottom half of the secondary hull is getting lost in the glare of the light it's reflecting...

Yeah, that might be why it doesn't look as contrasting. It'll all look alot different when it's lit up correctly. :)

You may want to put back the underside registry, just not on the big black hatches that were there. Also might cut to trim back the 'shiny' a little...

I agree about the underside registry.

And to elaborate on what I was saying about the azteking above... I tend to like it as a more subtle effect. Noticable, but not like "HOLY COW!"

Yeah, the idea behind the glaring contrast on the panels is that it's old... It's not the same color as it was when the ship is new. :)

Maybe, I should come up with a variant, that looks brand new, with more traditional looking textures. Then, I can have the brand new version, the old version, and finally the blown up version. :)

That sounds like a plan. :) I'd love to see the differences.
