this is not good. In hospital.

Just got back from hospital, apparently the outpatient nurse was ill, so it took 2 hours and they didn't even get the blood test done, which they'll do tomorrow instead.

They only have one outpatient nurse? Crikey!

Still, at least it's annoyed at a two hour wait and then going home rather than annoyed at a two hour wait and the rest of the day staring at a hospital room ceiling.

Well, for this particularly clinic, yeah. And there are only 4 names up on the board, so I'd assume it's something new or that they don't use often.

Today was even longer, there was a bit of a backlog of patients waiting, they did some blood tests, and said my ECG was good. So some good news.

After the discussion about Patientline and how rubbish it is, guess what I found out? My ex works at the hospital, as a Patientline employee. I walked in to her just as I was coming out of the toilet on the last day there and she was just leaving work. Didn't talk much, but apparently she now has 2 kids (1 more than last time I met her) and she said something to my mam about she's getting divorced, I didn't even know she was married, and her parents too apparently.
She seemed to be a bit of a different person than she used to be. Would have been nice to get a chance to catch up.

It's funny how fate plays tricks with us, Bob.

And it's god to see you're home enjoying yourself there and here on the BBS again. :)

Yeah, it was a bit weird, in a nice way, to see her again after 5 years. Shame we didn't get to catch up though.

It's better being home, and although I've still been getting tired it's not been any where near as bad at home when I'm resting. But I feel like I'm doing too little, but I guess I need to rest to get over it.

Rest yourself! If you do too much and have a setback they'll make you stay in hospital

Yeah, I plan on resting as much as possible, with a visitor here and there.
Yesterday we popped to my sisters and my mam helped her with my nephew while she got some house work done, and my sister had me just setting some things up on her laptop, and just doing that wiped me out for the afternoon. That taught me a lesson.

Glad to read you're doing better, Bob, and can spend some time out of hospital. When I'm stuck there I feel as if I'm going mad after a few days.

Yeah, don't be in too much of a hurry to get back up to speed. Take care of what needs taking care of, and plenty of rest is part of that.

I know the feeling exactly, I don't know how I managed 2 weeks nevermind how I'd have done 6 weeks.
These doctors.... always multiplying their hospital stay estimates by a factor of three... well, I guess they have to maintain their reputations as miracle workers. ;)

When I saw the head consultant for the ward he said 4 weeks would be the very minimum, he wouldn't want to treat me for less than 6 weeks. Almost cried at that news, then he told me I could be an outpatient.
