The Eleven doctors fanart

It's very simplistic, probably so as not to scare away new people (or maybe scare Eccleston away from taking the job ;) ). Doctor outfits are usually slightly anachronistic, so I thought 9's was odd. I sorta changed my mind when Captain Jack says "flag girl and U-Boat captain", which reminded me that it would be odd in other time periods.

Well the leather jacket was kinda old fashioned, it just wasn't as obviously old fashioned as most Doctor's outfits.

I think it's a fantastic piece of work. I'm not 100% convinced on the blue outfit for Colin Baker -- yes I know it's what he wore in Real Time, but like it or not it's the clown suit that's familiar so it'll get people saying "it's a mistake" since no one remembers Real Time*.

But I don't care -- I like it. Wallpaper-ho!

Now how about someone taking on the challenge of doing a family portrait of all the companions, including Amy?

Cheers!

Alex

* [grumble]Would it kill the BBC to toss it onto one of the Sixth Doctor DVDs as a bonus feature?[/grumble]

^ Fantastic, even better! I really like the use of the blue logo used in Doctor Who Confidential. Really suits the image better than the orange one would have done.

Definitely got a few "last supper" vibes
Judging by the look Tennant is giving McGann, I'm guessing he's sussed which one is Judas. ;)

Simply stunning artwork. I probably would've gone with Sylvester's TVM outfit and Colin in his multi-colour coat, especially since he's the centre of attention.

When I look at the aesthetic of the Doctor's clothes over his incarnations, I think than 9's looks really out of step with all the others.
It's the lack of a shirt, isn't it? :p

Bouncer: "Psychic paper or not, mate... Put on a shirt and a tie or you're not comin' in."

I prefer the Sixth Doctor in his blue outfit than his other one, he seems to fit in much more in this artwork than he would in his other outfit.

Also, I've just noticed that the Ninth Doctor is the only one not to wear a shirt, makes him look slightly out of place with his other incarnations.

Isn't the seventh Doctor wearing his suit from the New Adventures here? I think that's what's on the cover of The Highest Science?

it would be an interesting Two Doctors story, if they both land on a planet in conflict but due to personality differences, each takes a different side, believing themselves to be on the correct side, and then watch them argue as they confront each other.

Also, I've just noticed that the Ninth Doctor is the only one not to wear a shirt, makes him look slightly out of place with his other incarnations.

Which, if you think back to the Bad Wolf arc, is actually quite appropriate. To borrow a Trek analogy, remember how one of Dax's incarnations (and if you want to see proof of Doctor Who's influence on Star Trek, it's Dax) was something of a "black sheep" -- one that stood apart from the rest and, in fact, was even feared by Dax itself? While I wouldn't call Nine "evil" like that version of Dax (the one Sisko embodied in that one episode that gave us the inventory of the Daxes), he certainly stands apart from the others in many ways.

Looking at the image again after a few days, my only real criticism is even though the intent is to present the Doctors in order, I think having Six in the middle, and the centre of attention, is somewhat inappropriate. I think having Eleven in the centre would make more visual and contextual sense. (But leave Ten where he is because I like the "spying on Judas" aspect - sort of like how in the BSG last supper photo Natalie the Cylon is shown looking accusingly at the character that kills her.)

Cheers!

I think we need a poll: how many of us are using this as wallpaper!
It's my wallpaper too now! :bolian:

Ditto. :techman:

BTW, I made 140x140 headshots of each Doctor from the picture. I can post them here if you guys want. Just say the word.

Also, I made a simple 11 frame animated gif of those headshots using UnFreez, but it ended up being over twice as large as the maximum file size allowed for avatars here. I don't know if I can reduce the file size of each by over half while retaining good image quality.

EDIT: Ok, as you can see, I was able to make an animated GIF that fit, but only after I reduced the pixel size of the images to 70x70. Oh well. Still looks good.
