See that's the problem. Usually we can just wait until the following week to move pass the clunker. This time we have to wait months! :(

See I wouldn't have called it a clunker, it was just very average, like you say though, if next week we had a brilliant, or a crap, epiosode we'd at least have context, but as is it kinda just hangs there being ok-ish!

^ That, good sir, is almost sig-worthy! Could be applied to any show that has fandom and not many eps spread out over a year! :D

I watched it again last night and I wouldn't call it a clunker by any stretch. It's certainly not up there with "Blink" or "Human Nature" or "Midnight," but then it's nowhere near as clunky as episodes that usually get a bad rap around here, like "Fear Her" or "Love and Monsters". I thought it was a fun adventure with underlying serious bits, an appealing female guest star in Michelle Ryan, and Tennant doing his Doctor thing brilliantly. I'd say it's on par with "The Doctor's Daughter" (which I really enjoyed as well).

I think part of the problem is that I cannot stand Michelle Ryan.

She was hotter than I've seen her elsewhere in Jekyll (it was probably the red hair and boots) but crikey once Gina Belman's character took centre stage I knew which one I wanted. One's a girl the other a woman.

The warp hole creating aliens didn't really bother me that much. I mean hell, Trek has creatures who can generate their own warp fields, and fireflies can generate light organically. So whats the big deal?

Really the only things that bugged me were:

Why do aliens who live off organic waste just HAVE to look like houseflies? C'mon guys, show a little originality!

And the flying (edited) London bus was just way too cutesy for my taste. Trying to channel Harry Potter were we?

The science aspects didn't bother me at all, until the stupid flying bus (which was just a regular London double decker btw, not a school bus).

I rather liked the flying bus it was something different and if I wanted the same old, same old I"d watch some other show. And in any event it looked better than the last flying bus we saw on the show in Delta And The Bannermen. :cardie:
