CONFESSIONAL thread (ANONYMOUS so tell us the juicy stuff!)

See? That's what the sensitive and shy types have done to society. Women want a "listener" and BAM. Extinction.

I'm pretty sure I'm falling in love with someone on the board. I can't get this poster out of my head!
It would be funny if this poster happened to be the other half of the one being mentioned as the object of someone's affection earlier! :D

(I can't tell because one of them is using a totally anonymised email account, so even I don't know the inside scoop... but that's the fun of the thread!)
You're not fooling anyone, Holdfast. It's just two of your multiple personalities talking to each other.

:p

But they'd each be dressed to the nines.

No, I think that one of Holdfast's other personalities must be the exact opposite of the one that posts here. To wit, he's dressed in tattered and greasy pajamas, drinking Carlo Rossi jugwine, and notifying the moderator (himself!) in public on a regular basis.

You know it's true. ;)

Stop making up stuff in public, and resume making it up in private and sending it to me anonymously. :D

Mmm. Oh my!

I thought that might catch your attention. I could have said he nailed it hard and deep, but that would have been going too far.
Nothing's too far from my perspective. Perhaps. :bolian:

It's lovely to see how a bit of BBS loving has sparked some discussion...
:shifty: I must admit, this thread is an excellent front for your witch-hunting investigative methods. :bolian: ;) They'll eventually come out of the woodwork.

And, another hidden BBS love affair?

You're too late. We're EVERYWHERE.

It happens to some people.

Sorry, but it's not real. It's like falling in love with a penpal.

Until you meet in person, and establish a relationship of some kind, it's really not a romance. It's an online friendship which may or may not last when you meet IRL.

I don't know if I agree. I actually just got home from a wedding. They got engaged three weeks ago. They met in person for the first time two weeks ago.

Awesome wedding, btw.

The fact that they got married doesn't prove a thing. Besides, some people marry for all the wrong reasons. Let me know how they're doing in two months, or two years.

Eh, that wouldn't mean anything either. Plenty of people get married for the "wrong reasons" and stay together anyway. And the whole wrong reasons thing depends on the person and their values.

I think the whole lot of ya need to get laid. Just sayin'...

Some people are going to take that as an offer.

That's what I'm saying. Marriage doesn't prove the stability of a relationship; it just legalizes the union of two people. People don' get married to have a strong relationship; it's the other way around. Most logical-minded coupples marry because they're in love and are committed. But as I mentioned, some people marry for other reasons like tradition, expectations, pressure, money, fame, etc. As far as values are values are concerned, they're just part of the reason people get married OR stay married. I've known couples who had lived together for the longest time before they decided to tie the knot; others remain unmarried but passionately love each other.

We're slightly veering off topic, but my main point is that long-distance relationships don't always work out. Some do but not all.

The same could be said for short-distance relationships.

So, in summation...some people stay together, unless they don't. Film at 11.
