I don't think we can trust the VFX in those shots since there's a person in the background and they're taller than the rim of the Enterprise saucer. Unless we are meant to believe that the Lexington is manned by a crew of giants.

The floating body is in the foreground, much closer to the virtual camera, just like the debris between "us" and the Enterprise. It is much clearer if one watches the scene in motion, not just a still here and there.
Are these the pics of which you speak?

If so, I see what you mean. That saucer is definitely larger than the Big E's.
^This might be true IF you fail to factor in that the Lexington saucer is farther away by a good distance.
Personally, if it hadn't had the name "Lexington" stamped on it, I would have written it off as part of another starbase as seen orbiting earth.
What good distance? It seems to be a couple hundred meters ahead of the ship at this point, not exactly a mile behind the ship.^This might be true IF you fail to factor in that the Lexington saucer is farther away by a good distance.
^ Fabulous.
You know I've been thinking for a long time that it makes no sense to put the bussard collectors in the nacelles. This plus the NuEnterprise deflector design (and the fact that the warp core and fuel cells are apparently in the engineering hull anyway) leads me to believe the main deflector probably doubles as a ramscoop too, maybe generating a force field that sifts stellar debris pushing big things out of the way while allowing only interstellar hydrogen to be pulled into the collector.
I wasn't born thirty years ago. I've been raising it with groups of nerds since I was old enough to spell "ramscoop" though.^ Fabulous.

With all due respect, the time to raise this question was probably thirty years ago.
Of course, that's with regard to the old ship and the original timeline. With the new version, anything's possible.
