Whatever happened to Starship Exeter?

I can be a little more specific than usual about work to be done.

  • Work proceeding on a story point CG shot.
  • Finalizing a stunt shot.
  • A couple of live-action pickups.
  • Final writing tweaks.
  • Final assembly yet to be done, then on to music and sound mix.
  • Title cards to be finished.

I can't go into any additional detail - maybe I shouldn't have gone this far, but I honestly don't see any harm given how close we are - except for the "final writing tweaks" part: this item is a rewrite of a captain's log-style voiceover near the end of the episode. About ninety percent of effects work is done, but it's always that last five percent that's the challenge.

I have been holding off all this time to watch this in its entirety, it will be done before the next Star Trek film right?.

Would it help if I said I was going to hold my breath until it's ready.

  • A couple of live-action pickups.
Live action pickup shots after all this time? It's been almost five years since principal photography wrapped... will the actors even look the same after all this time? Where are these pickup shots being taped?

Well, that's why I'm usually hesitant to post anything so specific, because who knows how it will be interpreted - but let's just say that inserts or other live-action shots don't necessarily involve recognizable cast members and may be a matter of a second or so here or there.

So, are we there yet?
Shhh....you'll wake up Psion!!!

Hell, it's been so long I don't even remember where we're going. I live in the back seat now and that's all I know. I don't even notice the stench any longer. I get my protein by rolling down the windows and catching bugs in my teeth and my starches from whatever has fallen under the driver's seat. Sure, sometimes Dennis throws back a stale Ho-Ho or Twinkie, and I seem to remember something called a chili-dog once, but mostly I just fend for myself on this trip.

My world is a rush of telephone poles and billboards rising from one horizon and disappearing into the other, punctuated by the regular beat of tires rolling over pavement spacers. "Are we there yet?" no longer has any meaning for me ... it's a nonsense inquiry that implies a fantasy destination and a long-forgotten origin.

Hey, isn't there a Trek BBS rule against BUMPING/REVIVING multi-year old threads? ;)

Quiet, you! Here, have a Twinkie.
You might want to scrape off the penicillin...then again, you might as well eat it too. At least none of us have caught any deadly diseases on this trip.

However, IMHO even unfinished SE:TTI is better than ST-2009.

Hey, Psion, wake up and quit dreaming....I haven't seen a telephone pole in a while. All the signs say "Underground fiber optics cable. Do not dig!"

The first three acts were great, but I'd give 3-1 odds that Trek 12 gets released before Act 4 of TTI. :rommie:

I hope that I am wrong though.

I'm guessing that Act IV is being reshot with everyone wearing movie-era uniforms. :D
