True. I went to see ST 6 times, but I'm at the cinema all the time.... well except for those months I lived in Gretton. Four pubs and no shop. Trecking all the way to Kettering for a film, only to find out that the Corby-Gretton bus had been cancelled was not fun.

I feel like a bad Star Trek fan because I haven't gone for my third viewing yet

Yeah, I've only seen it twice too -- it seems most people here are much more hardcore than I am. Honestly, though, I don't think I've gone to see a movie at the cinema more than twice since LOTR: FOTR. In fact, I think this is the first time in about two years I've even seen one twice. However, it doesn't look like Star Trek really needs my continued patronage... and that is truly marvelous.

I continue to be in awe of ST's staying power at the box office. I'm also somewhat delighted to see Will Ferrell's latest film bomb so horribly -- does that make me a bad person? I'm still wondering what's in store for the Terminator franchise after the under-performance of Salvation. Nice to see Up continue to do well -- I think I'll try to see it sometime this summer. I don't have much interest in The Hangover, but good for them with hitting the #2 spot. What else just opened... oh yes, My Life In Ruins. Ouch! It's another one I don't have any interest in, but poor Nia Vardalos. I wonder if she's ever going to have a post-My Big Fat Greek Wedding hit.

If someone told me in the year of Enterprise's cancellation that we would be where we are right now, I'd say to that person he/she is crazy! And to even digest the fact that this film made 7 times more than Nemesis is just astonishing.

Probably not, but man, I'd have said the same about T4.

Trek still fills a great niche for the types of movies out at this very moment.

Great for Star Trek, yes, but in every other way they are shit for a $150 million hollywood movie with perhaps another $100 million spent on worldwide marketing.

It will have to improve big time for the next one.

Apparent flops like Terminator Salvation and Wolverine will probably make more money than this movie worldwide. That sucks.

I would suggest to Paramount that they launch the next movie simultaneously in USA, UK, DE and OZ only, then stagger the other countries to allow the cast to visit each country and blitz them with advertising & interviews & talkshows and so on. You can't do that when you launch in every country at the same time.
