I'm sorry to hear that.My cat has cancer and had quite a few vet visits a few weeks ago and she was scared at first but didn't mind much.Is she responding well to treatment?
Basically, there is no treatment.
She has squamous cell carcinoma, which is a feline oral cancer, and is a big killer in cats but has no cure. Hers is basically a scratch right under her tongue (right where the tongue meets the bottom of the mouth) and the only way to remove it would be to remove her tongue, which obviously can't be done. She's on some meds to help the pain but she's dirty from drooling (which has slowed down a lot, thankfully) and I have to bathe her a lot. Her blood work came back perfect and she is otherwise healthy. She just has to eat soft food.
The vet gives cats with scc 6 weeks - 6 months to live but I hope to beat that time and she's doing well. She hasn't lost much weight and she's had it since March.
My vet bill was just under $1000.
