I would have made her leave and enjoyed my film!

most of my best girlfriends can't stand Trek
*shrugs*
I know people who say they don't like Trek even though they've never seen a single moment of it. They also happen to be the same people who say they don't like certain foods without trying them.
Sorta undermines the image of a Trekkie who'll do/put up with anything for a date.![]()
^^^^^^^^
I can just imagine Jerry and George talking about this moment while sitting in a booth at Monk's
Jerry: How was your date with Lori, last night?
George: Let's just say it didn't go well.
Jerry: Why? What happened? What did you do?
George: I took her to see Star Trek. I ended up walking out on her in the theater.
Jerry: You what? Walked out on her? George, you can't do that.
George: Jerry, she laughed at the first ten minutes of the movie.
Jerry: Come on. She laughed at the Kirk's birth scene?
George: Loudly.
Jerry: Laughed at Kirk's birth scene? I cried at Kirk's birth scene.
George: So did I the first time I saw it. I was tearing up again, last night. It's moving.
Jerry: Very moving. She laughed at Kirk's birth scene. Amazing.
George: She guffawed. I was so upset, I told her I had to go to the bathroom, and I never went back to my seat.
Jerry: What kind of person laughs during Kirk's birth scene? Well, you did the right thing, my friend.
Hmmm... let me think about that one... no! You need them. Unless, obviously, your second date was brokeback mountain. As long as you have Star Trek, you don't need no stinkin' girls!
Hey, come to think of it, OP didn't just walk out on a date, he walk out on Trek! Boooo!I would have made her leave and enjoyed my film!![]()

yep. seriously, I'm the only girl I know in my RL close friends and family circle who loves/likes trek. every other person of the female persuasion either can't stand it/is bemused by my adoration of it/mocks me for it.
that said, I have a whole lotta virtual friends who are women who love Trek. I wish they lived closer to me!![]()
well, now that I think of it... there is one girl, but she's more of a TNG fan and somehow never got into TOS. I don't know if she's watched this movie yet... she's been traveling a lot for work. time to find out, I guess!![]()
Oh my god do you know what you have DONE?
You, sir, have missed out on a sweet lay just because she has a different opinion on a movie.
That is called epic failure.
If you really HAD to dump her, at least you could've waited until AFTER you had had sex.
Gawd, I was never like this. I kinda hope I get over it a little bit.
