Babylon 5 and Farscape, not surprised, as they are deep, absorbing and need long attention spans to fully appreciate.
But Stargate? I'm a fan, but it's much more simple action-adventure fare. I would think the US would be one of it's top audiences.
Wow, thanks to our friends in Canada!

That was funny; but I can hardly believe someone went to the trouble for that teensy clip. I'd watch more. The people in India seem to like it,well ,some of them![]()

I can't say much for how TOS was recieved here in Australia (I wasn't born at that point)
ST was a moderate Australian success for the Nine Network in first-run in the 60s, and they virtually ignored it until color TV was introduced in 1975. About ten eps were selected to be aired in primetime, and TAS was rerun in popular breakfast TV slots.
The rights to TOS switched to the Seven Network in the lead-up to ST II's cinema release, and TOS was thus run in prime time, and for the first time the whole series in color, and in production order. Then it went to repeats on weekends: the 40 eps that were rated "G", anyway.
I can remember watching TOS in the mid to late 70's at primetime, just after dinner. At the time for me and many people it was must-see TV.
Well these Indians loved the movie so much they broke into song and dance....The people in India seem to like it,well ,some of them![]()

Gawd, that's hilarious. A whole raft of those came up.
Can't remember it being after dinner but I can remember if being on in the 5 - 6pm time slot on Ch9 and that was in 79 (hope it was cos I say I've been a Star Trek fan for 30 years).

Even assuming that your allegation that we Americans are simple minded dues with short attention spans and a preference for simple stuff, what is that have to do with the google searches? Farscape and B5 are low because they are not recent, they finished their run in US long ago. I am sure the release of the new Trek movie increased the search numbers for Star Trek drastically, similarly with new Stargate series/DVD movies. I haven't tried to look up any info about B5 or Farscape in ages.
btw, while I liked Farscape and B5, I didn't find either to be particularly deep and absorbing.
