Where were the Klingons?

Re: Where were the Klingons

dont get me started on Nemesis.

this time round the Romulan skinheads were OK. not much was done to make them seem really menacing- I mean were they evil skinheads, or just balding & trying to hide it?

Re: Where were the Klingons

Since they did mention Archer in the movie, I would think that Klingons will NOT have Ridges when they appear in the sequels. That can of worms needs to stay closed.

Re: Where were the Klingons

in the mind meld with Prime Spock and Kirk, when we see the memory of the Romulan Senate, they clearly didn't have the stupid forehead ridges that made no sense. Good riddance.

Re: Where were the Klingons

They mentioned An Archer...

And without ridges the Klingons arn't Klingon!

Re: Where were the Klingons

J.J. left them out of the final print  hopefully we will see them along side the deleated scenes in a ''EXTENDED CUT'' edition of the movie.

Say's you!:p

Re: Where were the Klingons

They'll give them ridges and screw everything up. Just watch....

Well, who's to say that in this alternate timeline, the Klingons won't find a cure for the Augment virus five years earlier. Since Ambassador Spock has introduced "Transwarp beaming" technology, maybe he'll also e-mail the cure formula to the Klingon High Council to restore their ridges. ...

As for the movie, it seemed like Kirk and Uhura were making a big deal about the Romulans' attack on a Klingon prison, but that plot point had nothing to do with the rest of the movie. Seems like something important was mercilessly cut out in the editing process to get the movie down to two hours.

I wouldn't have minded an extra five minutes about a Klingon prison. I hope that footage can be restored for an extended DVD version of the film. I hate deleted scenes as bonus features (like the alternate ending for "Star Trek: Nemesis"). I want it in the actual movie. Who's with me? Let's start a petition! Bring back the Klingons!

Please, it's not Transwarp Beaming, as in using the Transwarp travel theories, but Trans-Warp Beaming, as doing it while in Warp.

I hate to get involved in something so nitpicky, but Solka's absolutely correct. We should use the hyphen to differentiate, so that we can avoid a lot of bs complaints from gramatically half-witted nitpickers about Spock supposedly bringing "transwarp" into the past with him.

And I don't think anybody want to bring up the story of those lizards to any non-Trek fan, so Transwarp should be kept taboo, agreed people? :shifty:

Re: Where were the Klingons

Would the deleted scenes have explained what happened to Nero's ears or did I miss something?

Re: Where were the Klingons

The scenes where Nero is held prisoner by the Klingons on Rura Penthe are going to be deleted/cut sequences on the DVD. I hated them being gone, too...but whaddya gonna do.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

I'm glad they didn't use the Klingons as a fall-back. They were a little overused in the TOS movies. I wouldn't mind them in a sequel down the road, but it was nice to have a break from them.

Maybe so in some context...but if you're gonna film a Nero/Rura Penthe scene that helps explain where he and the Narada were for at least part of that 25 year time gap, show the Klingons!

I didn't know about any deleted scene, but, when I saw Nero's scarred head I thought to myself - Good on ya George Kirk.

Re: Where were the Klingons

They'll be on the DVD so they're not lost. Yes. I made an Abrams pun.;)
