Where were the Klingons?

Where are the Klingons?

I heard they cut out the Klingons because Abrams said they were overplayed.
Nero just seemed like winey loser. I want Klingon.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

i would have liked to have seen some of the Narada/Klingon fleet battle. but the move works fine without any Klingons.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

I got sick of RDM's "honorable" Klingons after about the eighth or ninth Worf-losing-his-honor story. When the Klingons return, I hope they're majorly rebooted so that we're not getting the same old hat again.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

But then again, everyone knows Cardassians are the real Klingons of the 24th century. ;)

I was ok without the Klingons. I thought there was supposed to be a part too with them, but even in TOS the Klingons weren't always on. I think there was only what, 7 or 8 episodes of the 78 that had Klingons?

To quote Family Guy-Kirk: "Again with the Klingons"

There are several Klingon ships in this film! -Kirk destroys them all -as we suspected he would!

IMO, Worf tried to be more honorable than many other Klingons. Ditto for Martok. The Klingon leadership, even TNG and DS9, weren’t that honorable. I think the Klingon/Fed alliance was an uneasy one that could have fallen at any time. Only with the common enemy of the Dominion and Martok’s leadership was the alliance solidified.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

My guess they'll show up in the next one.

One thing I was thinking while watching is how well Curzon would fit in with Abrams's universe. Reynolds as Curzon would be awesome.

Oh well. Never happen.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

I'm glad they didn't use the Klingons as a fall-back. They were a little overused in the TOS movies. I wouldn't mind them in a sequel down the road, but it was nice to have a break from them.

Re: Where are the Klingons?

I really hope the next movie has more of a sense of exploration.

Where were the Klingons

we didnt see much of the klingons :(

I was hoping we'd get to see more than a brief holo simulation of klingon 'warbirds'

roll on the next movie thats all I can say.

Re: Where were the Klingons

You'll probably have to wait a bit for the DVD; I'm sure the scenes will be on there.

Re: Where were the Klingons

I'm happy the way that they did it. If the Klingons had been in there I think it would've been a bit too much.

Re: Where were the Klingons

well they would have made better bad guys than the Romulans.

Not necessarily, I know that a lot of critics (and fans) were commenting around the time of Generations that we'd seen too many Klingon enemies. When Nemesis came out there was an outpouring of support for the Romulans as the enemies.

Technically though this is the first film with the Romulans as the adversaries since Nemesis was mostly about the Remans.
