It has stopped again. This time it lasted only a few minutes, thankfully. Maybe I will sleep tonight after all!
But it also reminds me of the other night when I heard a beeping in my apartment. Couldn't figure out what it was until I checked the smoke alarm -which I had assumed was electrical. So I open it up and see a battery in it.
I guess it's a sentinel -even though it says the battery is required- so, OK I pull out the battery. The dumb thing keeps beeping. So I unhook the plug that is there holding it to the housing.
It. Still. BEEPED!
No battery, not connected to the electrical cord, and it STILL BEEPED! Fortuantly whatever remaining power was in it didn't last for more than a minute or two, but MAN was it at good frustrating 15 or 20 minutes getting that beep resolved.
This same thing happened in an episode of Friends. Phoebe ripped all the cords out of the ceiling and it was still beeping.![]()
^Well, it went off again today for about a minute, but it's not been going constantly -- nothing like this weekend. Hopefully it's being fixed. And I do think the police, or some one, ought to do something if it goes haywire again!
^It's temporary - just joining in the fun.![]()
Maybe that's what set off the alarm....
