I Just Can't Take It Anymore!

Ah yes time difference. Just thought it would be good idea seeing as you can't really have slept well with this over the last few days.

Odd. At 3:45 this afternoon, the sky turned purple and I heard a distant implosion....

I would've suggested the "Kramer trick" of sticking a paperclip in an outlet near the beep in order to trip the circuit breaker, shutting off the beep. ;)

But it also reminds me of the other night when I heard a beeping in my apartment. Couldn't figure out what it was until I checked the smoke alarm -which I had assumed was electrical. So I open it up and see a battery in it.

I guess it's a sentinel -even though it says the battery is required- so, OK I pull out the battery. The dumb thing keeps beeping. So I unhook the plug that is there holding it to the housing.

It. Still. BEEPED!

No battery, not connected to the electrical cord, and it STILL BEEPED! Fortuantly whatever remaining power was in it didn't last for more than a minute or two, but MAN was it at good frustrating 15 or 20 minutes getting that beep resolved.

Oh God. Is it some sort of cruel joke? I just can't understand? A mere 5 hours after the beeping stopped, it's started up again -- except this time it's worse! It's the same beep, the same rhythm, but now the sound is shrill like a whistle. God, why? WHY?

Seriously, I'm getting really pissed off.

Find the owner of the apartment building and hold them hostage. When the police ask what your demands are, tell them "I JUST WANT YOU TO MAKE THAT GOD DAMN BEEPING STOP! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE!"

If I were in your shoes I would have jumped from the roof of my apartment building by now.

Time to impleement the plan.

Find this building and do something to cause its power to go out. ;)

This same thing happened in an episode of Friends. Phoebe ripped all the cords out of the ceiling and it was still beeping.

How can the police not be able to do anything? Doesn't your state/county have noise ordinance laws? Surely that would fall under a loud enough noise towhomever lives closer to it.
