Speaking of the Mets, when did they start wearing 'Mets' on that hideous black jersey on the road? I thought that was the home abomination of an alt jersey, which NEW YORK appearing on the black roads.

BTW Johan is God and historically is a better second half pitcher. If he maintains his current level and then gets better in the second half, we can have a Pedro in his prime type year.

That'd be fun to see!!

If worse comes to worse, Omar will just unload the farm for a Roy (Oswalt or Halladay) since ownership gave him permission to raise the payroll. I have faith in the pitching once

Who's left on the farm? I thought they were pretty depleted already? I'm all for them picking up a big time pitcher, I just can't see one of the Roy Boys getting trading to Flushing.

I'm honestly worried about Perez (inconsistency), Maine (recovering from injury and historically throws too many pitches over too few innings), and Pelfrey (still not a proven commodity).

I saw on CNN this morning that the Nationals had two players where the team name was misspelled on their jerseys. Their jerseys said "Natinals". How do you screw up like that and not notice it until game time?

Stuff like that happens all the time, but more commonly with typos on the players name rather than the team name.

With all the alternate unis teams have these days, it's also common to see a player with the wrong jersey or hat from time to time.

Theres a couple of guys down on the farm. Jon Niese, Brad Holt, Dillion Gee are some of the bigger pitching names. We got some others in the lower levels like Mejia, Familia, Ramirez and on the hitting side we got F-Mart, Nick Evans, Josh Thole, and in the lower levels we got the duo of Marte and Flores and some other names. Most of the farms talent is in the lower levels.

So uh, I hear there were some games played last night.

Who knew Rentaria could hit the ball. Sure didn't seem that way to start the season but the Grand Slam is always nice. Unfortunately, Zito is pitching today so that might not be good.

You're not going to see the Jays let go of Halladay if they have any say in the matter. In fact, I won't be surprised if they Jays manage to find a way to sign him to a new contract... he's been the core of the team for the past decade, and I don't think management wants that to change.

Zito looked good, no walks. Now, the bats are sleeping... :wtf:

Yeah, something is wrong in San Francisco when you get a start like that from Zito. Bats sleeping though, that will probably be par for the course most of this season.

All right, B.J. Ryan needs to go. Or at least get dumped way down into the minors for a while to work on fundamentals. Two blown saves in four chances, a 7.70 ERA and a 2.36 WHIP. Oy.

Thankfully, the Jays pulled off the win in extra innings, but they shouldn't have needed to.

Well, I'm going to say something that is almost a contradiction of terms:

Berry Zito was brilliant today.

Man if the offense would wake the heck up, this could be a great team. 5 games, and the only one that was lost was a 13 strikeout effort by Lincecum mainly because the Offense sucks. Still, it's really fun watching this pitching staff right now.

I was at the Sox night game yesterday, very nice. Great to see Jeff Bailey jump right in and blast one to start the season. Definitely nice to see the Sox rolling right now, with the bats waking up, and the pitching holding the line. Managed to get these games in despite the rain, so now they get an offday to rest up before getting up for the Yankees series. :)

Glad the Twins are done at Fenway for the season. Having the first game shortened by rain was almost like having a mercy rule in effect (and gave the Twins' bullpen a rest). Not sure what's up with Liriano- he seems to be having some control problems.

Well, looks like Okajima has blown this one for the Sox. Oh well, 17 more chances for the Sox to beat the Yankees this season. ;)

EDIT. I take it all back. First Bay, then YOOOUUUUUKKKKK! Eight-game win streak, baby. ;)

Jason Bay...Kevin Youkilis....fucking win. They were dead to rites...

The look on Rivera's face was priceless.

Oh hi, White Sox. Yeah. We're just going to shut you out and score 14 runs, that cool with you? Good, been nice doing business with you.

I think it's safe to say Lincecum is back. 13 strikeouts last weekend, 12 strikeouts tonight. That was a hell of a performance and the offense finally came alive.

Well, that was a roller coaster at Fenway today. So many long balls hit, I thought they were playing in the new Yankee Stadium. ;)

A Grand Slam by Tek and a nice three-run swat by Lowell. Sox will go for the sweep tomorrow behind Masterson.

Ellsbury steals home against the Yankees, sweet!

Also, game just finished, anyone seen my broom? Yankees fans, I believe you saw it last? Twins had it before you, we could check there... ;)
