Small question about Chekov *SPOILERS*

I'll still put this in to spoilers just incase people who don't want to know anything about the new film.

Spoiler: Chekov

From what I've read in other threads, Chekov will be killed off during the events of the film, but I've been reading in other places and apparently Anton Yelchin is signed on for the Trek sequel if it happens.

So guys, what do you think? I mean the main question is: does Chekov actually die in the film? And anyone else thinking the sequel will have some plot device to bring him back?

I could have sworn I've read on this forum that they planned to kill off one of the members of the cast, and it was to be Chekov.

I read that Chekov dies and they push the reset at the end, but I don't know the truth yet

Perhaps you could PM someone who has seen the movie? I haven't seen it yet.

If they kill off any characters that appear in TOS or any of the later spinoffs without a reset button, it would cement the fact that JJTrek is an alternate timeline/universe.

There are such events, as well as dialogue, making all of that clear regardless of what happens to Chekov.

They might, but then again, isn't that just what poor Chekov should expect? The subtitle for Star Trek is now "Chekov: the Last Scream."
