DS9's most unusual guest star?

Gotta be Iggy Pop. Loved him as a Vorta.

Sure beats Joe Piscipo(sp) and Andy DICK

Yeah, Pop was pretty good as the Vorta, very sardonic wit and understated attitude.

I can't think of any other unusual DS9 guest stars myself.

Yes, Iggy Pop really stood out with his battered face and strong accent.

I also like Steven Berkoff as Hagath in Business as Usual, such a delightful case of overacting. His delivery of the line "This? He's going to like THIS??!!!" always cracks me up.

Iggy Pop for sure.
I also liked seeing Steven Webber show up in The Circle and The Seige. I was a big fan of Wings at the time.

Lark Voorhies.
They should have also brought in Dustin Diamond as her jilted alien husband.

But I also loved the episode with Steven Berkoff and Lawrence Tierney. :)

And of course another vote for Iggy Pop. :guffaw:

Iggy Pop was great as a Vorta. What about William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and the rest in Trials and Tribble-ations?

Iggy Pop.

"I'd love to hear more, but if your son doesn't show up soon, I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you." :rommie:

(IIRC, Shat and company didn't get paid for the footage reuse in 'Trials.')

I remember reading a claim that they didn't, but I don't recall where. I'll give MA the benefit of the doubt and assume whatever I read was mistaken.

IIRC Shat & Nimoy took Paramount to court over that

My favorite guest star is Harris Yullen as Maritza, but aside from that, my favorite guest star with a bit of an edgy performance is Tim Ransom as Jack. Brilliant. shades of Pitt in 12 Monkeys. Honorable mention goes to the dude that played Geiger in In the Cards.

Since we're talking about unusual actors (not unusual characters), Iggy Pop gets my vote too. He made a great Vorta.

I LOVE The Magnificent Ferengi!

I don't know about Shatner and Nimoy, but Walter Koenig has been quoted as saying he got paid more for permission to use footage of him from "The Trouble with Tribbles" than he did for his participation in the original episode. If that Shatner and Nimoy story is true, it makes me sad. I've always wondered if they ever saw that episode, and would like to think that if they did, they got a kick out of it and were touched by what a loving tribute it was to the series and the reverence their performances have earned over the years.

I've often thought if I ever had a chance to ask them a question at a convention, I would ask them if they saw the episode and how they liked it if they did. I hate the idea that all they remember it as was a situation where they felt cheated out of royalties. To get back on topic, I guess for me the oddest guest star was Wallace Shawn (keep in mind I haven't season 7 and most of season 6 yet). I loved his endearing performances in Clueless and The Princess Bride, but was really weirded out by seeing him under pounds of make-up using some wacky exaggerated voice as the Ferengi Nagus.
