I need to interview a writer

Hi, let me explain something. I'm a student at Sacramento City College, and I'm doing a report on my future career when and if I graduate. I need to interview someone in my chosen field, and since there are a lot of professional published writers in my field here, I'd figure I'd come here, where I like to come when I get the chance anyway, and respectfully ask if any one of the published Star Trek authors here would be willing to be interviewed for my research paper. I absolutely need to have an interview in the next couple of weeks.

So, please?

-Gray

I'd be willing. Drop me a line at keith at decandido dot net.

Your writing lacks skill as evidenced by your post.

Whether that's a tongue-in-cheek remark or not is not obvious. It's ambiguous.

Therefore ...

Who are you to judge others' writing abilities? Especially when it's a post on a bulletin board and not a work of fiction to be read as such?

It was a sincere request and did not deserve flippancy.

Next time, either be more obvious, or don't forget the smiley. It makes all the difference. :)

Graywand2, good luck with your interview. Keith is a great guy. One of the best guys I've never met.

Yeah, and to add to TG Theodore's comments...remember that ALL writers need editors. And each for different reasons. I would not be surprised if some great authors even need someone to check over their spelling. The biggest part of writing is having the inspiration, the ideas. From there--well, NONE of us are perfect.

I'm thinking of having a T-shirt made:

"I keep copyeditors employed. Your welcome."

Oh man...especially if you type it EXACTLY LIKE THAT...

Seriously, get that shirt! I bet you could sell it! :rommie:

I'm available. You can contact me at bob.greenberger (at) att.net.

I tried to send you a message but it didn't get through. I got a message back from the delivery subsystem saying it didn't get through. To be clear, I still intend on doing the interview with Decandido. Though my teacher would also like it if I got more than one interview.

Just the fact that the writers on here are....well....on here to begin with, and willing to do interviews just proves that ST writers are some of the best people out there and aren't bogged down by egos and such.

So thanks for taking the time for his interview and for posting your insight and such on a public message board! Your time here is appreciated by a new user like myself.
