Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

This thread has pretty well established a threshold of 'naughtiness' - don't go past what we've already got, both in the thread and links, and you should be okay. Sexy is okay, but it's better to stay away from shots whose sole purpose is sex; humor helps - if you think there might be a question about an image you feel like posting, then it's probably better not to do it.

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Not M'Ress (not unless she got "devolved" somehow), but why choke the forum with new thread's when this one will do?

Lycan-Kzinti-2.jpg

The base figure actually a werewolf available at DAZ, but with the morphs so far provided, I was able to warp the muzzle into something marginally feline. I'll be able to improve upon it when another merchant releases a new set of controls that create lions, and tigers, and bears (Oh, my! ;)) and other other mammals associated with various lycanthropy myths.

To make this beastie resemble Larry Niven's (in)famous Kzinti, I swapped the included tail for a third party prop (modeled and rigged by my friend Little_Dragon) which, as you cab see here, can be morphed int a rat-like tail. I shrunk the existing ears into the mesh of the head and positioned, get this, dragon wings to achieve the bat wing appearance Niven described in his various novels. To keep this semi Trek related, I stood the "rat-cat" upon Ptrope's TOS era transporter pad.

I can almost "hear" one of the various musical "stings" used in the original series as the Kzin materializes upon the platform, particularly the one used when Gary Seven first beamed aboard.

Sincerely,

Bill

Not my work, but I just had to share this!

One Ms. Angela West has created what I think is the most "on model" of Lt. M'Ress (and yet far more detailed and "realistic" than the efforts of Filmation).

Yes, I too wish the image were larger and possessing a slightly less intrusive watermark, but the positives of this work far outweigh those minor "issues".

I suspect Ms. West would appreciate our viewing her entire site rather than just a single image, so here's the link for the home page:

That is a very nice drawing. Thanks, Bill, for finding the artwork and sharing it with us!

Wow! Now thats a Artist with skill....:techman:

I wonder if they drew Gadget from Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers :)

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

The Acorn Cafe looks like the kind of place M'Ress would go for a quick snack...

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

There is a fan-made comic on what I believe is the Star Trek Animated website that features a M'Ress-centric story featuring intrigue on Cait and guest-starring the crew from the fan-made Exeter series, of which M'Ress was a member before her posting on the Enterprise. It was an interesting read.

Someone should draw up M'Ress in the new uniform seen in the upcoming film :).

And then I got a new wallpaper for my Blackberry!

Honestly, that is the best piece of art I have seen for M'Ress! Did she actually photoshop pieces of lion in that pic? It is that photo-realistic.

I purchased a "print" of that selection from the artist. It is apparently hand drawn with colored pencils to create the effect of individual fur strands. Shrunk as it was, the "photographic" illusion became a bit more believable.

Onto a slightly different, but still related, topic, which one of these "interpretations" of Lt. M'Ress do you (meaning anyone reading this thread) prefer?

The first one employs a base mesh modeled to resemble an anime/manga figure. Morphs were used to make it appear feline. This is the one I've shown earlier in this thread.

The second one employs a base mesh modeled to resemble a generic anthropomorphic character. Morphs were used to make it appear more distinctively feline; the default shape was somewhat "mousey".

Obviously, neither is a direct "recreation" of the 2d cel art, but rather, they are "personal interpretations". Given that, which do you find the "more appropriate" interpretation?

Sincerely,

Bill
