And now, a selection by 3D "content creator", Oshikai.

    M'Ress by Oshikai

"But, it's the same as yours, Bill," I suspect some of you are thinking. Well, I shared my "secrets" and the "face pose" with Osh', but he placed his own sultry stamp on the character, tweaking certain elements which I believe makes his version of M'Ress rather more alluring.

Oshikai made a another render of M'Ress sporting a "racing queen" ensemble, a bra top with pleather hot pants, but I thought I'd link his "on duty" version first.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

    Okay, here's a link to Oshikai's second M'Ress portrait.

I certainly appreciate the personal submissions both Masao and Ptrope have made, but doesn't anyone else have any selections they'd like to present? I didn't for this thread to serve as a personal showcase. I remember during the 90s, Jerry Collins, an Atlanta based illustrator, made a series of M'Ress drawings in off-duty situations, several of them depicting the Caitian and Uhura just hangin' out. Alas, these "slice of life" illos were usually sold to bidders, so I don't know if he ever made scans for his archives.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Man, I had totally forgotten about this thread. It's been a while, but what bothers me more is that I absolutely missed Oshikai's contributions on the first go around. Anyone willing to repost Oshikai's picture from the first link. It seems to be a non-fuction link now. The second picture, with the bikini top and "pleather" mini-shorts...... WOW! :techman:

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more, uhm, pictures..... Soley for my study in learing more on CGI 3D artwork.... Yea, that's my story and I'm sticking to it....

Shouldn't we see four more "raisins" under that obviously-very-flimsy dress? :)

I like anthropomorphic kitty-cats as much as the next guy, but why doesn't Arex ever get any attention?

I think I did some M'Ress pieces a few years back for Kail Tescar's website. I'll see if I can find them on one of my old backup discs. The only thing I remember about them is that I spent more time figuring out how her shoes would work than anything else.

As impressive as much of the artwork in this thread is, I don't understand the appeal of a literal half-cat, half-woman. Julie Newmar circa 1965 is another matter entirely.

They do share a common ancestor, according to Alan Dean Foster's "Star Trek Log" series of TAS adaptations. In one book's extended scenes, on a previous ship, M'Ress had to pass herself off as a male kzin! (Female kzinti aren't sentient.)

It was never really said. However, backstage information jokingly referred to her as "a Kzinretti"!

Two male Caitians, according to the makeup artists' notes. One is brown furred, the other black!

I don't usually post my character art, but here's a sketch I did & colored w/ the computer:

...I mean...M'K'Gruf...yeah, that's it. Doggians and Caitians don't get along for some reason.

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Well, I always come back to this: M'ress may be cat-like, but in the end, she and her race are aliens, so whatever physical similarities they have to familiar terrestrial felines, there's no reason to expect them to replicate all of the biology (regardless of Trek's "everything in the universe is genetically-similar enough to procreate" silliness - what John Byrne called the "Central Casting Syndrome"). I expect that multiple sets of mammaries are directly linked to the number of kittens in a litter, so the question is this: how big are Caitian infants? Are they more like kittens or more like humans in shape and size?

As long as we're making humanoid cats (or felinoid humans), I'm all for the tradition of 2 breasts perched up where it only takes two hands to cover everything ;).

Love the "Doggian," especially the little bone symbol on his tunic.
