I loved the gag they borrowed from Spies like us.

Which begs the question if Chevey Chase is playing the head spy in an up coming episode, then who starred in Spies Like US in the Chuckiverse? Rodney Dangerfield? Jim Belushi? Mark Harmond?

Average.... again.

It's becoming hard to believe that this show was on my must-see list last year.

Remember in last Action hero when hey were in the Video store and they had a cut out of Stallone as the Terminator because the appearance of Arnold was already an ordinary everyday police detective? Spies like Us was a movie made in 1985 staring a very young Dan Akroyd, a youngish Chevy Chase and briefly displaying a very young and very naked Vanessa Angel... The Doctor doctor doctor doctor line in Chuck this week, might suggest that the movie was still made in the Chuckiverse but unless the actor Chevy Chase is the twin/clone of the character Chevy is playing later in the season then it is perhaps obvious that another American or more likely Canadian Actor played the part of Emmet Fitz-Hume in Spies like Us back in 1985...

I meant to say John Belushi too, not Jim, but my brain farted.

More dead than most that one.

When I had heard Chevy was gong to be in Chuck hopped that he would be playing Fitz-Hume and that money was changing hands to make it so because that would do wonders for the DVD sales perhaps. Alas, no.

Wow - that was one of the show's best ever. Awesome is definitely going to find out the truth by the end of this season.

When Alex said "I'm going to clean my weapons," did anyone else want Casey to say "I'll be in my bunk"? :p

Heroes's ship has sailed in terms of quality.

I disagree--glad Heroes is returning, and hope Chuck does the same.

Bryan Fuller is busy whipping Heroes back into shape. Shows can be good and bad and good again depending on the production and writing staff. The real difference is that Chuck's premise is too thin to sustain more than another season - that would be just about the right length for this series. They've done a great job stretching the premise so far, but there's a limit to how far they can go. Heroes could theoretically continue indefinitely, given its very open-ended premise. It just needs competent people working on it.

I'm a great believer that a show's premise will tell you how many years it can run before it starts to make us wish it will go away. The people behind it just need to have the good taste to know where to draw the line. And many of these actors will land on other shows, no problem - Zachary Levi, Ryan McPartlin and of course the eternal Adam Baldwin. That guy's going to be on TV until he's 99 years old and channeling Saul Tigh. :D

I'm serious, is it worth sticking with and going back and watching the rest of season 3? I watched the first 3 episodes of season 3 and there was so much random, out of the blue stuff going on I just couldn't keep up.
Just skip ahead to the last few episodes of the season. The idiots who were screwing the show up got fired and replaced by Bryan Fuller, who was onboard in S1. He left to make the wonderful and sadly cancelled Pushing Daisies and now he's back cleaning up the Heroes mess. So far, he's doing a nice job. It's pretty clear that he was the reason S1 was good to begin with.

Word through the grapevine is that it's probably going to get renewed.
It's been renewed, nothing rumory about it.

EDIT: Cancellation rumors for My Name Is Earl. Which is good news for Chuck, because the two shows are around the same level in demos and NBC doesn't need to cancel both...

I was very upset that someone on the board (quite some time ago) spilled the beans about Bakula playing Stephen (I think it was actually in the TITLE of a thread). When the trailer door opened, they REALLY SHOULD HAVE had Chuck say "Oh, boy." and then gone to black. It would have been hilarious.

Really good episode. Helfer looked SO much like Andrea Parker in this episode. Loved her hair color with those eyes. Don't get me started on the stripper/pole dancing bonus!!

Also, the main story's now set up so she can come back should our lead female ever quit or want maternity leave. Loved the General's facial reaction to seeing Awesome.

I was talking about Chuck. The suspense of not knowing is killing me.

I LOVE My Name is Earl. It's one of the funniest shows around. But if I have to choose I'll go with Chuck because Earl has had his time to shine. Hopefully NBC will give it an ending.

You gotta love how the people who run this show think.

"Who do we have guest starring on this week's episode?"

"Tricia Helfer."

"I see... a stripper pole."

"Why would there be a stripper pole in the Buy More?"

"Hush."

One of my favorite moments was when they brought in a bunch of Subway $5 footlong subs, especially since I saw a poster for Chuck at Subway the last time I was there.

The product placement in this show is hilarious.

It made me want a sammich, I do know that. But then again most things do...

And yet it never takes away from the show (I'm looking at you Eureka).

Here's a thought: if Awesome finds out Chuck's secret...he's a doctor.

And what does Chuck need to get the implant out of his head? A doctor.

Granted, a bit out of Awesome's usual specialty, but the guy doesn't lack for confidence. Up for a little brain surgery, Chuck? :p

electroshock therapy...
electric surge overload would fry any computer system...

fry his brain, man.... fry his brain....

:techman:

Awesome again. I liked Tricia Helfer, and thought it was funny how the CIA/NSA had replaced Chuck's dream girl with Casey's dream girl. :p I was really glad that Casey ended up siding with Chuck and Sarah in the end, though. He's come a long way since the premiere.

I also really liked that Ellie and Devon were more prominent in this ep. I hope Devon actually does find out that Chuck is the Intersect.

Yeah, I'm glad Casey stepped up too. I was also glad to see more of Ellie and Devon. I think if Awesome found out about Chuck, well, it would be awesome!

Devon needs to stay in the dark. How ever I do want to see Ted McGinly, Andrea Parker and Barbra Feldon on set reprising their former spy roles from anciently canceled serieses.

Bill Cosby can fuck off.

Chuck doesn't have an implant. The Intersect was downloaded directly into his brain.

Then how are they going to get the Intersect out of his brain (theoretically) if it has no physical manifestation? There must be something physical to remove, something that causes his synpases to fire in a certain way (the memory flashes) when a certain input occurs. Something triggers it - what is it, physically speaking?

Since future episodes no doubt are going to deal with getting it out of his brain, then they are going to have to whomp up some sort of technobabble explanation for how to solve the problem. Probably will require a cross between a brain surgeon and a computer nerd, which is why Chuck will have to be awake and directing traffic when Awesome operates. :rommie:

What's to stop Chuck from just pretending the intersect data has been deleted from his brain? Does the NSA have a way to verify that it is still in there?
