Hey, cool! Clearly, Wilf is being reintroduced so that he can be a companion to the newly regenerated Doctor, thereby making the Eleventh Doctor awesome by default.

Right, guys?

Right?

Oh, who am I kidding. That fat, crazy Welsh bastard is going to piss all over one of the few truly great things he's done since the first season.

Hm, this obviously means they are filming the last episode, which means they'll be filming the fifth series in a few months also?

Just waiting for the shot of the new Doctor's outfit.

I thought that was the Brigadier at first...

So I guess that means Donna is going to show up.

He's New Who's version of the brigadier. Yeah Donna will probably make an appearance or its Wilf's turn.

Yawn.

After Davies saw fit to crap all over the ending of "Doomsday" (also one of the few truly great things he's done since the first season) just for the sake of bringing his Mary Sue back one more time and giving her a Doctor RealDoll to take home, forgive me for not leaping for joy at the idea that now one of the only redeeming parts of "Journey's End" seems to be heading for a similar path to oblivion.

The ending of Doomsday felt rushed a bit all because Billie Piper wanted off of the show, Journey's End felt more natural in my mind.

I just watched Doomsday on DVD over the weekend and didn't notice any changes.

You may want to hide you S4 DVD in the closet- just to be on the safe side.

;)

See that's the mistake right there. Donna's story was never over. There was absolutely no way that Russell T Davies (of all people) was planning on consigning her to such an awful fate forever. It would go against everything he believes about the message the series should be sending and the effect that travelling with the Doctor should have on people.

In fact I’d be utterly amazed if Catherine Tate’s contract to return at the end of the Specials was not signed, sealed and delivered before Series Four had even finished shooting. (Purely because she’s such a busy person that they’d need to make sure she’d be available when they needed her.)
