That said, I hope he is correct about this movie.

I get the same impression. He seems to be pretty down-to-earth, not at all inclined to take himself too seriously and not so identified with his opinions that he takes a differing opinion as anything but someone else's opinion.

He's pretty damn funny sometimes, too.

He's also not a Hollywood-only guy ... he worked for a while, and probably still does, in the tech industry. I was one of the few people who had no problem with the Wesley character, and enjoy or at least understand everything he's blogged about since. I liked Hulk, but it's one of those movies where you can see the division of opinon and like/dislike isn't an indictment against your entire taste in movies.

Wheaton strikes me as a cool guy and a guy who "gets" our little subculture because he IS one of us.

Shatner, like him or hate him, has never been "one of us". I think we scare him, truth to tell, and would have absolutely nothing to do with us if we didn't give him money.

He's a good whore.
