Toss in some metal bikinis and I'd be in my bunk.If Star Trek pulls in anything close to what Star Wars pulled in at the box office, and tells a nice origins story along the way, I'd be a happy camper.
... would Anne think?![]()
There is only one guy I want writing the next feature if there is one, the guy with the best script no matter who that would be. Now who is to judge -orci and kurtzman? The talentless studio heads? There is no more altruism where that kind of money is concerned. There is only viscious predators. They should appoint someone nuetral who could be unbiased.
Totally worked for NEM.
You've been watching the trailers with your eyes but have you been hearing them with your ears? I hear at least some character development within them.
We'll see.It is an origins story and I suspect it will be chock full of character development.

Sure, none of us want to admit Wars had something over Trek but if it is true then shouldn't we just admit it to ourselves and move on? *ducks*
And of course on the ice planet fighting the monster without a light saber!!What I got from it is that they are going to spice up the space battles. They made mention that Star Trek was always more like submarine battles, IE slow and tactical. Star Wars battles were intense. They seemed to indicate that they wanted to introduce the intense look of space battle to Star Trek. I wouldn't mind that at all.
The difference btween Star Wars and Star Trek is it's the structure that supports the Star Wars films and the mythology but it's the ideas that keep star Trek afloat - metaphysical ideas. So the more of them there are in one story, the better the odds the story will stay afloat. Ideas should be commissioned by TPTB and weighed accordingly IMO.for the record, this was a SciFiNow article, not TrekMovie
I've now amended the title to reflect that.for the record, this was a SciFiNow article, not TrekMovie
And I have no idea what your response has to do with what PowderedToastMan posted. Did you mean to respond to someone else and click on the wrong button? The difference btween Star Wars and Star Trek is it's the structure that supports the Star Wars films and the mythology but it's the ideas that keep star Trek afloat - metaphysical ideas. Excuse me, but weren't you the one who was satisfied with Star Trek: Enterprise, to the point of defending it?Star Trek has been deficient, testicularly speaking, for a number of years.

YES YES YES YES!! More Rock and Roll!!! By making it more like Star Wars!! Yes!!....Ohh...wait!
Not one person said..what they mean by "Rock and Roll.."
Its good to see JJ and the crew and saying that trek was not good, and it has to be more like Star Wars..
Did you even read what you quoted? Because if you did you would see how wrong your analysis of what they said is.
It sounds like he was right to me. It seems like the producers keep comparing this movie to Star Wars more than any fans have, and their comparisons usually come up saying that they want Star Trek to be more like Star Wars. In this case, they say that Star Trek was missing something that Star Wars had. It makes Star Trek seem like it's lacking or that even Star Wars is some epitome of greatness or apex of space fiction.
Excuse me, but weren't you the one who was satisfied with Star Trek: Enterprise, to the point of defending it?
I think its time Orci and Kurtzman stopped doing interviews and let the movie's actors take the lead in promoting this movie from here on out.
