Was Weyoun somehow derived from Weyland-Yutani by DS9's writers?
Is Weyoun derived from Waylon, as in Smithers?
How did they come up with that catchy, memorable moniker?
Actually, the word is Celtic and not very well known. There are several versions of the word that vary in spelling yet all essentially mean 'fair'. There is also an Asian spelling of the name as 'Wayoon'.
