I picked up my new suit! I've been waiting for it for ages and at the fitting there were a few details that needed altering, but today I went back to collect it and it's perfect! It's a three-piece small-scale black & white houndstooth. Very snazzy. :cool

...

I'll probably wear it at some point over the next day or two and will try take some snaps.

Finally got round to wearing it today, and I love how it's come out.

Pics are in the Pictures thread, as promised!

It's been a while since I posted in this thread, so here goes:

- I have new mobile phone (Nokia 6600 Slide)

- I have a new digital camera. It's a Canon, and has 14.7 megapixels. It's wonderful! It takes good pictures as well. :klingon:

- I've bought a new watch. It's a Citizen somethingorother. It can handle all timezones with just a few presses of various buttons, and looks good (proper silver bracelet, none of that leather nonsense that wears out after a few years use)

- I have a new laptop - a Macbook. I love Macs. My old Macbook Pro only had a 120Gb hard drive, and the basics took most of it up, but it couldn't be upgraded easily. So I am going to sell the perfectly good Macbookpro somewhere - maybe eBay. The new Macbook seems a lot quicker. I like it. Much better for travelling with. :)

- I bought a colour laser printer from PC World for £160. It's brilliant! The only thing is that the cost of new toner cartrideges is more than the price of the printer itself (with toner cartidges installed). Someone got their pricing wrong there... Still, for what I need, it will last a while.

- Bought an iPod Touch a while back. Love it.

- Haven't bought a new car recently. My current one is about to go through its second service and MOT. I still love it though. I found out recently (during the "Snow Event" in the UK) that traction control on this car does actually work in reverse. Cool.

A new plum-colored dress required new plum-colored stockings and a new plum-colored beret:

I was really drawn to this dress, it's a bit Trekkish, in a way! I had to go through a bit of trouble to get it, though. The store at 8th Street had it only in a 4, which was too big, and a 4 petite, which was too small. I had to walk all the way up to 34th street to get it in a 2, but it was totally worth it.

I was looking for a new colour printer recently and noticed that one. The price of the cartriges put me off, as did the fairly slow print speed (if I'm thinking of the same one). I ended up getting an HP inkjet instead. But that £160 price for a colour laser IS very impressive.

 Sounds exciting!

Now that is fun! I love the colour and the fit.

Have you lost weight round your waist or have you cinched the belt quite tight there?

^I haven't lost weight, though I wish I would! The belt's where it's most comfortable, I don't like things too tight around my waist -- I could cinch it a couple notches tighter, even. The dress just really enhances my hourglass figure, where most things don't fit well enough (without tailoring) to show it as well. The two other women in the dressing room were actually arguing over whether I should get it -- one was complimenting the fit, the other said it made my hips look big. I pointed out that that's just where my hip bones are, and they wouldn't be any narrower if I were 20 lbs underweight.

It's a lovely shade, the fit "up top" is near-perfect and you have enough bosomosity (technical term, that) to balance everything out, esp. with the floppy beret & your bob haircut which pull the eye upwards a bit too. I think without the PhotoshootHipTilt and when in actual motion, the silhouette will be quite flattering. A great buy!

It's always a little dangerous analysing fit from static pics or just looking in a mirror I think; clothes get their life when in natural motion.

(the outfit would work even more beautifully with some black heels or even knee boots, but then again, I think almost every outfit is made better with black heels or knee boots.... )

The plum suits you quite nicely, TSQ...that's a REALLY cute outfit!

My new Vizio 55-inch HDTV (120Hz refresh rate) is due for delivery tomorrow.

Happy viewings! :D
Thankee kindly...it's really very amazingly sharp. I should feel guiltier than I do for splurging, but I'd been saving for this for quite some time. Hopefully I won't have to do anything drastic to compensate for the outlay. :)

^Thanks!

Thanks! I especially like that I appear to have enough bosomosity -- I sometimes feel inadequate in a B cup. :o

I'll have to remember to film my outfit next time. :) You're right of course, my camera isn't very high quality and the angles are all weird in the mirror. But I do have an unusually extreme hourglass shape that does make belts that fit right look as if they've been cinched tight. I know the rules of fashion dictate the evening out of things, but that is one rule I sometimes break because I want to show off my waist. I think I'd do perfectly in the nineteenth century -- I look like I'm wearing a corset and a bustle without actually wearing them. :borg:

The loafers I'm wearing actually have an 1 1/2 inch heel, it's just hard to see because of the downward angle of the camera.

You look plum adorable! (and yes, Kryton I was waiting for a chance on THAT one. :D ).

Seriously, TSQ, Great looking outfit, and it suits you very well. :)

A Sennheiser HD-650 headphone. I received it this afternoon and since then it has been connected to the stereo receiver. Pieces by Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mahler, and Handel are being put to work on it and just now I tried the headphone. It sounds exactly like the audio LSD that I expected especially for classical music. The sound separation is just amazing and you feel like you are on the concert stage.

I was waiting for it! Seriously, cute outfit. :)

Today during lunch I discovered a shop that sells unusual perfume bottles. I ended up picking up a beautiful Egyptian one for my mom who collects perfume bottles. I'm thinking it will make a good Mother's Day present. Now I just need to remember I have it when May comes around. :)

Goodie bags and stuff to put in them for son's birthday party this weekend and a card and nerf blaster for his surprise present :)

A new haircut.

I look just as bad as I ever did, only now my hair is shorter.

The only thing unattractive thing about you would be that sort of gloomy attitude. ;)

I bought new stock for my clothes sideline - some fabulous plaid jackets from Zegna & Ferragamo and a great Dunhill suit. And a wonderful burnt-orange/salmon-pink Ferragamo jacket. You know, part of why I do this little selling sideline is I get to own lovely things like these items, even if only very temporarily until they sell!

I also drooled BIG TIME over some amazing ladies wear in Valentino. Beautiful bright red fitted jackets and black svelte skirts. Awesome, awesome cut - feminine & sexy yet totally authoritative (prices were pretty damn discounted too). If I was a girl, I'd have totally bought the lot! :D

Must....resist....comment.

I bought:

- Michael Ende's The Neverending Story
- Frank Schätzing's The Swarm
- Alan Weisman's The World without Us
&
- Kim Stanley Robinson's The Years of Rice and Salt (bought, but not yet delivered)

I know what to read the coming weeks!

I bought a 3 pack of toothpaste (on some crazy sale at Target) and breth mints.

I'm looking for a Taboo game, but Target was all out. I've got like 3 Targets, one Toys R Us and a (God, please keep me from it), Walmart I can check before I give up.

We've having a game night on Valentine's Day and I'm dying to play Taboo again.

I bought a Valentine's Day card to mail, even though it won't get there until after the 14th now. I'm sure it will still be appreciated.
