I drive a Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDi Formula Racing.

The remapping is not detectable by normal controls, so it shouldn't even be an issue as long as insurance goes. Not to mention that I am in truth a very careful driver and I hope I'll never have to contact my Insurance Company safe for the yearly renewal. :)

Ah, gotcha. That's good.

The mod I looked at involved changing a few mechanical things as well as an ECU remap, so I'd have had to tell the insurance. Weirdly, on my previous car, when I had a few mods done they just increased my premium by the percentage increase on baseline power. But when I changed cars and asked for a quote with some mods, they really ratcheted up the premium price. So I didn't go for the changes

Nice car, by the way. Gives the lie to those who say diesels can't be fun to drive. Plenty of low down grunt.

Don't we all! :D

I think that they looked up your Audi and thought that if you have enough money to buy -that-, they are indeed entitled to raise your insurance however they like.

You are so right, I never had as much fun with a car before, and the low down grunt, as you so justly call it, makes for at least the half of it. I haven't done much work on the outside, so it may still look like a poor diesel, but when I push down on the accelerator it responds like lightning and leaves a lot of high-maintenance, high-performance cars behind. And a lot of drivers quite cranky and disheartened.

I got a charger cord to replace the original one for my iPhone that broke last night. Now I can charge my phone up without fear of getting shocked.

I also got the basics at Target, including a shitload of velcro rollers (I have a lot of hair). Express was having a great sale on striped button down shirts, so I got some great ones for work. I got this one, and then I managed to snag this one in the blue stripe pictured and in the hot pink striped version.

You HAVE been a busy shopper, haven't you! :D

My new Vizio 55-inch HDTV (120Hz refresh rate) is due for delivery tomorrow.

Happy viewings! :D

If you hear a sound in the distance that might make you think Obama is having an orgasm, it's because we did our part to "stimulate" the economy today. I have a new HP notebook/laptop to the tune of $650, my daughter got a new Sponge Bob movie, all three of us got books, and we've eaten out three of the last four nights.

And I must say, this new HP Pavilion kicks ass. Once DW and I stopped arguing over the encryption key info for our wireless, and got this computer logged in, wow.... I can't wait to really test drive this machine out over the next few days! Beautiful screen, excellent action on the keys. Wonder what a DVD will look like on this at 720p.

I went to Macy's today and bought a red peacoat from Calvin Klein for 75% off. Now I can get rid of the el cheapo one I got last year. I also got a DVD of Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

Thanks John Clark, thanks Emher. :D

I got a lovely pub meal at the Churchill Arms, near Kensington: amazingly good Thai cuisine.
