Then again, what is the point of them spending umpteen millions of dollars for the tv spot if it's just gonna get pirated to You Tube?

That was pretty much all of the movie ads too. I guess security is impossible after a certain point. I really doubt they actually care that much, I think they just have to go through the motions.
It gets us yacking, builds buz that it is something different, and introduces the movie to those not on the net, or would have no reason to look for it.

Or it's because the target audience of the Superbowl Trailer does not give a shit whether or not Nimoy is in it. It was designed to entice non fans, and with that goal it succeeded.

They should of just showed thirty seconds of Corvette action ending with "My name is James Tiberius Kirk!" and then cut to the Star Trek logo.

Is it just me or did the Youtube version of the commercial from last night lack that shot of Uhura rolling her eyes at Kirk at the bar?
And does Hollywood have something against San Francisco? First the Golden Gate Bridge gets the Statue of Liberty from Planet of the Apes treatment in the Land of the Lost trailer, then whatever's going on in the Star Trek trailer, and finally a giant robot falls on the bridge in the Monsters vs. Aliens trailer. Makes me wonder if earthquakes are the least of our concerns in these parts.

Wait, wasn't someone complaining not too long ago about it always being New York City that got destroyed by cataclysmic disaster or attacked by aliens?
I do wonder about the drilling location in the Super Bowl spot, though; it seems to be right in between the San Andreas and Hayward faults, but not on a major fault.
I would hope there not be any hints. The final act is the most important part of this movie. Will J.J. do the safe thing and allow Kirk to put things back the way they were or will do what JMS did with a B5: A call to arms with them defeating the bad guy, but after the damage had been done.
