Comic Prequel - Countdown #2 Preview

I see zeroes all the time.

And someone better check on Livingston from TNG and Chester from DS9. Trek Pets appear to be getting the shaft these days.

Ever heard of Ten Forward ? ;):p

Had forgotten about that - Did we ever see the Enterprise-E's version?

Sharr

I remember seeing it at least in Insurrection at the beginning, were they were wearing those white formal uniforms and had to meet the Evora (?) delegation.

Ten-Forward on the Enterprise-E was in a deleted scene in NEM but it looked like a simple redress of Picard's quarters. The lounge in INS wasn't supposed to be Ten-Forward, but some banquet hall or captain's dinning, iirc.

Data isn't even in the movie; just this prequel comic book, which (since time travel is involved) may represent an alternate Trekverse

The new timeline, however, wouldn't be created until Nero goes back and does his stuff. So based on Orci's comments, etc, it would seem that the comics would still be in the "prime timeline."

It has already been stated that the events of the comics take place in the familiar and already established Trek universe, not some alternate reality.

Anybody else notice the stuff NERO was getting from Memory Alpha...

"STARFLEET"

"HISTORY"

"ENTERPRISE"

"CAPTAINS"

...then the pic of Kirk. Kinda Kool...

..and what he couldn't get before hand...

"Hubrus System"

"Red Matter"

"Decalithium"

then "Memory Alpha"

Nope!

Not once in three movies over the course of six years.

I assume the 1701-E and other Sovereign-class ships have Ten Forward lounges or their equivalents. Seems sensible given the greater size of the newer Enterprise and her ability to carry just as many people if not more.

I know the 1701E is slightly longer than the D, but in comparison shots the Galaxy class appears to have the greater hull volume overall.

According to ditl.org, it would appear so:

Galaxy class:
Dimensions : Length : 641 m
Beam : 470 m
Height : 145 m
Decks : 42
Mass : 4,960,000 metric tons

Soverign class
Dimensions : Length : 680 m
Beam : 240 m
Height : 87 m
Decks : 24
Mass : 3,500,000 metric tons

The ENT-E is way tinier than the ENT-D, it's just longer because it has HUGE warp nacelles.

Either way, it's a BIG MUTHA F***IN' ship that needs a bar for people to unwind in.

Oh wow...thanks for posting the preview. Very powerful images without the dialouge and is it just me or does Data look sad, or almost emotionless. This makes me think that he does not have his emotion chip in this comic...and yeah the research that Nero was conducting was interesting. I smiled with the Spot picture, also the model starship to the side of Data as well, just like Picard's model of the stargazer. The Enterprise-E looks like that it has been through a refit as a I stated in the Countdown thread proper. I'm really going to be buying this when it comes out in TPB and flip through two at the comic shop. Also was that a bottle of Romulan ale that Nero was holding coming out of Ten Forward? Or a bottle of Chateau Picard?

Have we ever seen an actual bottle Romulan Ale comes in? I only remember different decanters it is served from. At high mag, the bottle Nero is holding shows characteristics of both the Dom Perignon and Chateau Picard labels so I cannot be certain.

On Data's looking sad, should this Data have emotions? Did Data have the chip turned on when he downloaded into B4, would the chip programing be part of the transfer? Would it transfer even if it was off, and what were Datas hopes for B4 concerning having emotions and being able to turn them on and off at will, or not?
