I wouldn't mind if there is a homosexual character on Stargate. Judging from his Blog, JM isn't opposed to the idea, but would want to do it "right". I'm cool with that. Now, what does "right" mean? I dunno. For me, "right" would be just making the character like anyone you would happen to meet, but happens to be gay. Just another aspect of the character. I really would not want to see just a Will & Grace stereotype. Say what you will about the writers, but I don't believe they'll stoop to that if bring in a gay character.

Oh well not like im going to watch this show anyway, just hope it tanks, mgm gets new writers and redoes the show the right way.

If the show tanks, I suspect Stargate will go away for a long while.

I know how this can be salvaged! Cast Larrin as one of the main female roles. We need someone aboard the USS Vapid who can kick some ass!

You will die by my hand. This I swear with my life's blood, for my son, for all our sons!!!!

Eww, keep your hands to yourself!

Yeah! Stargate: GGO.

Which I'm sure I do not need to translate!

Wouldn't be surprised if they decided to make one of the civilian characters gay. After all, they'll be stuck on the ship filled with heteros, zillions of lightyears away from their significant other. Nice and safe, and non threatening. And he/she will be far more interested in helping their best friend sort out their love lives onboard the Destiny with no attention paid to their own! What more could you ask for. :rommie:

The cast details so far impress me in no way. I can't imagine that the bimbo's coming down the pike will impress me either. Unless, of course, they take a shining to my own personal pike...um, nevermind, anyways.

One thing I am sure of is that I WILL WATCH EVERY EPISODE OF THIS SHITFEST. I kid you not. I haven't come this far without losing the ability to avert my eyes.

Gertch is entitled to his opinion.

To each their own, folks.

Really?!?!

Kpnuts and I are amazed to hear this on the Stargate forum. I guess our opinions, based one facts, aren't good enough. However high school like homophobia is fine!

Simmer down. Everyone's entitled to an opinion and to express it. But whatever it may be and however it is expressed, it still needs to be within the topic of the thread. So remembering that ......

Just make sure you're doing your part to keep the tensions from amping up. ;)

Looking forward to seeing Robert Carlyle and Justin Louis in their respective roles. Their casting gives a sense of seriousness to the show. I just hope the rest of the boys don't become filler like Rainbow Francks in SGA, or Anthony Montgomery in ENT. But I don't know them, so can't really judge.

I don't know any of the actors...not one of them. So I can not make a fair judgment as I'll just wait until the premiere in Fall. Then I'll make any decisions..hopefully, the writing will not suck, and it will be a great entertaining show. I do have to say one thing..there are no cute looking guys..nah..not one.

I'm getting the feeling this is going to be "Melrose Place in Space"...
I hope I'm wrong, but only Carlyle seems to be over 25..
In reality, the kind of specialists and scientists they would need should all be at least OVER 25 (aside from the marine-type military personnel).
I'll give it a chance, but I have to admit I'm pessimistic about it.:(
