The promo pic is good, but that interview pic is the damning one. Of course, if he does go for an 80s punk rocker retro thing, that would be pretty damn cool.

Phoo Action - It was a weird little pilot made just over a year ago for BBC Three. It had a series commissioned, but the BBC later withdrew that so it's unlikely it'll be seen again.

Smith is one ugly fellow and that hair only makes it worse.
I like that suit in the promo pics though and after seeing him talk and all, I think he'll make a decent Doctor.

I think he needs to have a look which emphasises the back-to-basics approach of his Doctor, something that reminds the audience that he is an alien, not a human, and sometimes finds himself irritated by we primitives.

As has been pointed out, Moffet likes the hair, so it is very, very unlikely to change.

It must be pointed out that the clothes Smith wears in the publicity shots are almost certainly not what the Doctor will be wearing. These pictures were taken just to give the newspapers something to go along with their articles. As they were taken before the announcement of Smith, when they were still trying to keep it secret, even the photographer didn't know what they were for. The Tardis was shopped in later. The official costume probably hasn't been decided on yet.
