NHL 2008-2009 Discussion!

Not NHL, but who else saw Canada beat Russia in a shootout tonight?? What an intense game!
Yeah, I was working the Oilers game when it was going on, and watchingit on the tvs at rexall. Half the people who went to the Oilers game were out in the halls watching the Canada/Russia game instead.

UNREAL game, that is why I love this junior tournament so much.

Cant' wait for tonight!!!!

How do you think that Russian kid feels? Puck on his stick, 6 seconds left, empty net - and you ice the puck?

There's a direct correlation between how many people are watching and the stupidity of your action.

Although Canada came through when they needed to.

One of the best games I've seen in a while

Probably as bad as the Russian that couldn't handle Tavares' weak backhand and coughed up the puck.

Canadian Juniors win their 5th Gold Medal in a row, and what a great game that was. I love how they took the body to the Swedish goaltender, it was hilarious.

Congratulations to the juniors!

Yeah, great game (although another one I was forced to watch at work).

Congrats Team Canada :)

What an odd little story this is.

Ottawa's Jarkko Ruutu has been asked by the League to explain his actions in Tuesday night's loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo's Andrew Peters alleged that Ruutu bit his gloved thumb, breaking the skin's surface, during a first period altercation.

"It's a pretty goofy thing that happened," said Peters, who had a bandage wrapped around his right thumb after the game. "It's not the injury, it's the incident."
"Nothing happened there," Ruutu said. "His fingers were by my mouth, but I didn't bite him."

Ruutu's become the Mike Tyson of hockey.

Being a Vancouver Canucks fan, I actually like Jarko Ruutu just from how much he gets under people's skin - he is actually VERY good at what he does. Saying that, I can competely understand how other people fucking hate the guy.

I always thought this was pretty funny:
