Let's predict The Doctor's Demise!

While I like the idea of the Tenth Doctor regenerating due to old age, I wouldn't be surprised if he's simply hit by a passing lorry in Cardiff after just saving the Universe from some big meanie...

In "The Next Doctor," when he first meets the titular man, the Doctor tells him not to say why he regenerated, and then started rambling about how he hoped it wouldn't be something lame, like tripping over a brick.

'Tripping over a brick' might also be a dig at the demise of the sixth Doctor, who (so far as we can tell onscreen) banged his head when the TARDIS was forced down to a crash landing, and regenerated.

Offscreen, he was already dying because of some exotic energies he 'd absorbed at the end of the novel Spiral Spratch, and was maybe helped on his way by the timestream-crossing seventh Doctor (who, according to the whole Valeyard/Other background, popped back to finish his previous self off by bashing his head against the console. But that was only in a dream sequence in another novel - Head Games, I think? It's been a while...).

Though purely on the onscreen evidence, you could arguable that it wasn't a banged head - it's just that a Time Lord regenerates if touched by a Tetrap, as the regneration doesn't start until the Rani's Tetrap henchman pulls on the Doctor's shoulder to turn him over... ;-)

Hair Gel Toxemia. Although from the looks of him, the new fellar looks like he might need a whole bucket of it himself.

WTF?! I'm all for a mean Seventh Doctor, but going back in time to kill off your predecessor is messed up. Wow... That's just a scary thought; I misght have nightmares where I wake up and Sylvester McCoy is standing over me with a pillow or something.

I am hoping that the mini regen in JOURNEYS END would have a catch, maybe age him quicker (could link it with the River comment of him being so young) and then she could hang out with the new Doctor for a while before leaving because maybe its too weird for her or something.

I don't think RTD will be able to resist the temptation to go EPIC and BIG.

He'll give the tenth Doctor an exit that perfectly fits the tenth Doctor's era. That means Daleks, universes in peril, Captain Jack by his side, and a fanwank/technobabble anti-climax of a resolution to the whole damn thing.

Well... that's what I think anyway. Either way I'm looking forward to it, I'll miss Tennant, but damn I can't wait to see the new guy take the helm.

He'll die of a childhood illness...no wait that'll be how the 11th Doctor goes out...

Sorry couldn't resist...

I think you mean Captain Jack on his lips, but other than that, yeah its a possibility.
